Well mister saltI keep hearing that MC learned the Saban formula and will turn this program around. So Other than Kirby what disciple has turned a program around? And what makes MC so special that he will figure it out where other haven’t?
I’m not big on him but Mel Tucker is one.I keep hearing that MC learned the Saban formula and will turn this program around. So Other than Kirby what disciple has turned a program around? And what makes MC so special that he will figure it out where other haven’t?
According to win percentage as a P5 coach he is top 10.Well because he won multiple conference championships, NY6 bowl, and signed best recruiting classes in Oregons history. So, he has proven himself at this level as a HC.
Is he perfect? No. Is he a top 10
Coach nationally, No. He can still win big here

No....Mario learned the Butch formula...and to be perfectly honest, so did Saban. There's a reason why Saban called Butch in the Mid 90s as a young HC at MSU...and asked him if he could come to UM for pointers and watch practices. He could have asked a number of other highly successful coaches...but he didn't.I keep hearing that MC learned the Saban formula and will turn this program around. -Mark Dantonio was a former protege who did a very good job at MSU; Jimbo did turn around a lackluster FSU despite culture issues at the end of his tenure; Kiffin has turned around Ole Miss and credits Saban for resurrecting his coaching career. That’s pretty good in my eyes.
- MC did turn Oregon around into a very good program again. Plus has played, been an assistant here before, and is known as a phenomenal recruiter.
Thanks,
Ms. Sugar
apples & orangesI wouldn’t really call Kiffin a Saban disciple. He had been hired and fired from a couple of big time gigs before working for Saban. I’m pretty sure being around Saban taught him how to properly run a big program, tho.
This is the best answer.Well mister salt

Yes, for making him a better overall coach and CEO of a program. But unlike his other "disciples", or branches of his tree, he had other big time jobs before Saban. Even a NFL gig.apples & oranges
Kiffin gives him credit

Mario learned from Saban yes. Mario has said repeatedly he will use the Miami blue print. Its going to take a roster make over no matter what blue print is used. Sarkisian might be getting Texas turned around.I keep hearing that MC learned the Saban formula and will turn this program around. So Other than Kirby what disciple has turned a program around?
