I would like to see Fines get a look on the interior offensive line this season.

On paper, he's not a great fit with Diaz's defense and he has some talented guys in front of him. However, he would be a solid athlete by offensive line standards, and he has certain traits (strong legs, powerful hands) which translate well.

Offense is his best shot but he shouldn't be here to begin with.

He was a reach by Golden.

golden special. can't wait til theyre all vanished off this roster.

The '13 and '14 recruiting classes weren't that bad in terms of reaches but the '15 class had a ton, so it's gonna be a while.

He never played OL in high school so I see no reason why he would even be remotely good at it here

People switch to new positions in college all the time.

The last guy we flipped from DL to OL, Jeremy Lewis, contributed as a senior and has moved on to a nice career in Canada. If he had switched earlier he might be in the league.

Because sometimes a player might be more effective at a different position but neither he nor the coaches realize it. E.g Sam Shields

Yep. Lewis ended up looking really good all things considered.

I was hoping to be surprised by him at DT this year though

JJ would take DT that didn't make it and put them at OL.

I get that. Just saying, most big kids played both ways in high school, making any transition from defense to offense a little bit smoother in college.

This kid has not played one down of OL since Pop Warner

You know I love ya D, but there is a lot of room for a hard working DT who can bring a lunch pail with him on running downs, even in a one-gap system.

It'd be great if he could turn into a Santonio Thomas.

miami has the oline guys to play don't have to move him to oline. dt actually has a need for him for depth purposes.

on the oline miami has trevor darling, kc mcdermott, jahir jones, bar milo, tyree st louis, sunny odagwu, hunter knighton, alex gall, brandon linder, danny isadora, taylor gauthier. im not sure if knighton is coming back but the others are and tre johnson who we just signed. im sure there is a player or 2 who i forgot also.

u move guys for depth issues. miami has no depth issue on oline.

Nobody who has seen our games from last year should EVER count Gall as depth of any kind...he got Kaaya killed too many **** times.

Dude spent way too much time on his ***. And they kept rolling his sorry *** back out there....**** shame.

I hope you're right and he contributes. Just don't know if he's quick enough. Norton and Jenkins are already entrenched ahead of him as big-bodies.

We could use depth at either position but Joe Brown leaving and Alex Gall struggling creates an opportunity on defense.
