Rumph to UM

Lmao.

Piece of **** thread by several piece of **** posters.

Look at this limp-wristed homer.

"I want to have subpar talent in the secondary because everyone on the team and staff is awesome guys! Yay true Canes! Weee! Oops gotta get home soon to watch my wife CUCK me!"

Guess what I just fired you as a fan. Enjoy being unemployed with Mike Rumph.

Nah...If we had a competitive QB we're in the playoffs, and most those dudes suck, wouldn't get PT here, or haven't enrolled in college yet.

Thank you for the comment, but they are all on IGNORE list, so I never get to see their childish dribble, unless someone quotes them.

I know this with certainty: If Rumph doesn't deliver all those studs from Heritage then Richt is a sap. Richt should have made it crystal clear that Rumph can have the CB gig if he delivers all the Heritage guys.

I don't want to hear any stupid **** about getting on them "too late". Rumph was their goddam HC and leader. He absolutely must deliver. None of this sissified "well he can't force them to come here" horse **** we've heard the last ten years or as Ice's excuse for failing to deliver local dudes.

...

Someone quoted Chad Morris in this thread, I can't find it.

Chad Morris coached in HS as a HC from 1994-2009. Then he went to Tulsa.

Does anyone see a difference?

Yeah one is coordinating an entire offense. The other is coaching CBs.

That is the only thing, yup. Congrats!

I would like to add that Morris was a HC for 16 years before he went to TULSA.

Gus Malzahn went from HS to SEC OC.

I think Bishop Gorman's coach got a HEAD COACHING job at the FBS level.

Rumph has a pretty good rsum for a position coach: He played at a very high level in college, played in the NFL for 6 years, and coached a state champion at the high school level.

He's not a slam dunk hire (because of lack of experience at the college level), but nothing to get rustled over, either.
You remember why Gus got that job right? Mitch Mustain and a bunch of other dudes that Houston Nutt wanted and that Gus would deliver if given the gig. I hope Rumph delivers recruits too unlike the other HS guys we've hired.

Chise, you sensed it early on......

Great bump since folks were on the soap box saying we didn’t hire him for AH kids. Lol. Geez.

It's amusing to see how much the goalposts move for certain posters.

The overwhelming sentiment when Rumph was hired was that he needed to clean up at Heritage in order for the move to pay off. You don't pluck someone from the high school ranks at a big time program unless that's a major part of what you're trying to do. He failed miserably.

Top talent like Campbell & Surtain view Rumph as exactly what he is: a high school coach. They trusted coaches at other programs to develop them better and prepare them for the NFL. They clearly didn't believe he has the type of coaching acumen some on this board think he does.

Facts. Game recognize game.

Im know this is piling on and confirmation bias but ****. I remember watching Rumph play and getting ****ed at how few plays he made here and surprised the 49ers took him in 1st. Never made sense, his talent and draft position.

Even though he dropped the ball on some recruits. I think he been doing an excellent job coaching and developing what we got. Our CBS has played great since he been here. What he has done with Michael Jackson is almost a miracle

Just bc you had zero expectations for MJ doesn't mean RumF polished up a ****. Perhaps the kid was better than we gave him credit.. maybe not. Regardless our secondary play has been underwhelming IMO.
