Rumph to UM

its hilarious muther****ers getting mad at Rumph about recruiting!

he was hired to do a job which is to coach the cornerbacks!
recruiting is completely a secondary aspect for a position coach.
He is not hired to be best buddies with teenagers he is not a recruiting coordinator.

if a bond is formed great! but for yall to really think these teenagers are making the biggest decision of their life based on if they "like" a coach
are because they want to be BFF's with a coach you are living in a fantasy world

they want to play for and with the best and that comes with time!
Coach Rumph did an outstanding job! (I.E) see Corn Elder's turnaround this year

great hire

Corn Elder's turnaround?

The **** people say on this board....revisionist history at best.

How do you decipher whether a unit looks better due to position coaching or just a simple change in defensive philosophy?

I mean, we already know Kool can coach but the truth is, no matter who we hired the DL was gonna look better just off of a change in philosophy alone.
****, we lead the nation in TFL's in 2010 and I think Clint Hurtt was our DL coach.

Exactly (while at the same time absolutely HATING the Jon Richt hire/continued employment lol)

The previous staffs have been full of "ace recruiters" who couldn't coach for ****. I got tired of seeing them bring in 4 and 5 star players only to watch them flounder here. So many players left Miami no better than when they enrolled and in some cases, they got worse. If Rumph can continue to make the type of coaching impact he made during year 1, I couldn't care less about how he recruits. Let Banda and the recruiting staff kiss a bunch of teenagers' asses. Keep maximizing the talents of the kids you get and the others will take notice.

And yes, a ton of kids make "the biggest decision of their life" based on whether they like a coach or not. I hear/see it all the time. Whether they like their main recruiter or not (as well as the other coaches) plays a huge part in their decision. Truth is, a lot of kids aren't smart enough yet to understand the business decision that they're making.

im sure you do coach, but honestly how often do you see it with your D1 recruits???
I too see that a lot as well but for kids with lower tier college offers, where the relationship means so much more than with a kid who actually has bigger plans.
I surly don't see it as much with kids who have actually have dreams of playing in the league, they have too many choices and all their recruiters kiss their asses

the majority of the kids that I have been associated with who actually had a chance to make it to the next level made their choice with two main things in mind.
#1 Winning, being on a winning program
#2 making it to the show

not to say it doenst happen, btu far less in my personal experience. kids are smarter now adays

im not trying to bad mouth Banda, ****, you ****ers will be skeptical at best of anything written on an internet board anyway as you should but

(TIFWIW) From the horses mouth of a DB who just recently played his last game as a Hurricane so I will
say it now.
Banda dont know his ***, Rumph stepping in early saved the DB's. Banda would have had them playing out of position all year long if it wasn't for Rumph.
that's what was said. believe it or not

yall get mad all you want but im just relaying what was said

but Banda does seems to be one **** of a recruiter. guess they are a good compliment for each other

you have a point. but Elder played with a fire that I sure didn't see last year, I would have to give that nod of specific improvement to his position coach

We really have some of the stupidest most moronic buffoons in the country who pretend to be our fans... they can't comprehend anything but why aren't American Heritage kids flocking here. Lord I wish abortion was more prevalent.

In case reality isn't your strong suit corn was simply a slightly above average cornerback last year with plenty of upside. Hadn't put it on the field as a corner until this year. Ask any scout the difference between this year & last.

Corn tested the draft after last season and there was a reason he didn't enter. This year he was elite. Not to mention Colbert was mocked on these boards during the off season, yet he was productive when healthy. Rumph's players all improved and formed a good unit

Rumph and the whole secondary should thank coach kol and the d-line.

One question... How is Rumph responsible for recruiting AH when his territory is west fla?

The reason our recruiting sucks is that high school kids today have no memory of Miami as anything but a second rate program.

The U means something different to us than it does to recruits.

Because he's been assigned to recruit American Heritgate since he coached there and recruited a lot of the players to American Heritage?

Schools like USC, Alabama, etc. have torn up recruiting when they have sucked for decades.

Well he coached at Heritage and his whole staff of assistants are still there.

That does suck about Banda.

Thought he might be a rising star. ****.

Not saying the guy is lying BUT Diaz hand pick this dude (who has been with him for years) to help implement and run his defense. Hand picked. Hardly believe that Banda is an incompetent.

Each piece doesn't work as effectively without the others. In that case Diaz should really be thanking Kool. But all good secondaries usually can count on a good front 7. This is no different.

If this is true, then that's actually what you want at that position.

Just some of the talented local kids known loser Mike Rumph has had tell him to fvck his own face in two short years.

This isn't the NFL. He's a good coach but he can't recruit for ****. He's awful. Dreadful. We can find another decent DB coach on the technical side of things that recruits don't remark has "an incredibly punchable face" and "breath like kitty litter."

To miss on this many local guys -- especially on some from your own former school -- that HE coached, is inexcusable and embarrassing. This guy is a ******* clown. Fire him right now and hire someone, anyone else. Maybe the new DB coach can come in and undo all the upper decker's Rumph was leaving in recruit's toilets.

I'm not sure if he's asking recruit's parents to pull his finger on in-homes or is just a flat out *******, but it's obvious he's pretty weird and unlikable and he needs to get the **** outta here.

Byun-Yung Rumph can't close and is preventing us from making a leap into the elite tier of programs by driving away top talent. I mean the **** guy can't even land kids he's coached since middle school for God's sake. A KNOWN TACTIC IN RECRUITING IS TO HIRE A HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH ON YOUR STAFF TO LAND A RECRUIT(S) THAT PLAY FOR HIM. He can't even do that. This loser must have to pay for *** constantly if he's this bad of a closer in real life.

Please, fire Rumph immediately. Let him go to some other program and spend his last calls asking girls if they want to come back to his house and see his iguana collection, ******* terrible closing nerd.
