Rumph to UM

Another blah hire.

Same retards defending it.

Yep. They're actually ridiculing the guys who question the hiring of a HS coach who was renowned for winning by recruiting.

In one breath, they squawk "you have no idea if he's going to be great or not" and then in typical contradictory ****** fashion they hit us with "we know he's a major upgrade over Williams." How the fck do they know if he's an upgrade if they're telling us we have no idea how good or bad he'll be?

It's the disease of the new coaching hire. Richt could have brought in Pat Nix as OC, and they'd applaud it.

Hiring a HS corch for a position coach at the U of M was universally recognized as a bad idea 2 weeks ago.

Now? "Great hire" "local ties" "he was a great DB here".

I can understand skepticism, but it's WAAAAY too early for flat-out pessimism.

Our DBs coaches have a grand total of 2 years coaching college ball, none in the P5.

We hired a DC who needs elite coaching at the DB position.

Sounds to me like Diaz got himself a few yes men bc he is afraid of his zone being criticized by his own staff member like he was in Texas when they were getting anally raped every week.

i'd chop my **** off if that happened again.

Mike Rumph was enemy number one on here, a site where people were adamant that HS coaches should be given first time gigs at UM, and where there was a specific thread suggesting him that was downvoted 20+ times.

Then he gets hired, and the same Goldenites are now loving the hire.

Lot of dudes who are followers and don't stick to their own opinions. Real estrogen style ish.

i'm a bit torn on this. if he were hired as the out-and-out db coach, i'd absolutely hate it. now if it turns out that this is richt sticking him in a spot to learn and recruit while hiring an experienced db/"safety" coach, i'm ok with it. it seems like "cornerback coach" is more of a label to get him to recruit. if the latter happens and he brings in some of the studs from american heritage, then it's more than a worthwhile hire.
admittedly, that's a lot of if's.

we got robbed on the spot on the jackson 4th and 1 and if i had to guess reed was supposed to help over the top and was late getting there.

Good guess considering Reed got benched the following week because he "freelanced" in the PUS game.

I see the trolls have taken over the thread once again.

FN Shame!

Ban the trolls!

Nobody would've applauded a Patrick Nix hire.

Because he didn't play here.

I know this with certainty: If Rumph doesn't deliver all those studs from Heritage then Richt is a sap. Richt should have made it crystal clear that Rumph can have the CB gig if he delivers all the Heritage guys.

I don't want to hear any stupid **** about getting on them "too late". Rumph was their goddam HC and leader. He absolutely must deliver. None of this sissified "well he can't force them to come here" horse **** we've heard the last ten years or as Ice's excuse for failing to deliver local dudes.

Agreed chise.....Ice had a great racket going with Randy and Al...."hire me and i'll bring u all the recruits"....then the guy gets his 6 figures and sits on his *** and says "oh well, them's the breaks"

This. Right now, the only tangible advantage to hiring Rumph is his recruiting. We have no idea if he can coach DBs but we know he knows the Heritage kids very well. He needs to deliver them now.

Rob Chudzinski's first coaching job was at Miami.

The guy didn't even coach at the HS level. He developed numerous NFL TE's during his tenure.

The legend of Randy Shannon's first coaching job was in 1992 as Miami's DL coach.

Some guys just have it......I am willing to bet Rumph will be the best DB coach we have ever had.

I know man, that's why I'm so glad we got Chud as our HC here!! You called it bro!!

yeah a first round pick, all american corner, who's an elite HS coach is a bad choice for CB coach, right
