Rumor on CS board

Mario's buyout isn't a problem come Jan 1st....Lol at 8 to 10 million....it won't take that at all...
Agreed! And Manny’s buyout drops at the earliest, Dec 2nd if no bowl game. If bowl game, the moment the clock strikes 0:00

It all makes perfect sense. Mas is on the trustee board and it would be in his best interest to partner with the University on a stadium. I also think Ross would be okay with making the exit palatable, because he's rich and it's not good business to keep someone where they don't want to be. Besides, there can be an agreement in place to play premier games at HR each season.

I thought the Marlins should have done a retractable pitch with moveable seats, but lack of vision and good ole-fashion greed were barriers to collaborating. They probably still could do it if they wanted to, but Mas may get better political support for something like this downtown if he's aligned with the []__[].

My fave part "expand plans of a new stadium to 40k-45k". You are going to expand a new stadium? You're not going to build it to the appropriate size? Expanding it to 40k-45k? Where is it starting at 20k? Are you talking about sharing the InterMiami stadium near Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport?

Whiners on here already complain about having games in Miami Gardens, their heads would explode for games in Ft. Lauderdale. LOL
I believe he’s talking about the building a stadium in Miami by the airport where melreese golf course is currently located, the stadium is intended for the intermiami FC there. Its been hold for a while which is why they’re playing in ft.lauderdale now. Miami politics is involved. So we shall see. However, the Mas family are huge UM booster and they own a huge stake in the Intermiami FC, so it does make sense.

You know sometimes, I really really think about making a fake account and Dan Sileo Jr’ing yall *** just to see how far it could go.

To this day, that is still the best troll I have ever seen. Not only for a message board, but in life in general. RIP to da goat.
I agree... You know what would be better? If you were DSJ, just bumping yourself to add to the legend. I've got my eye on you Houston. lol

Just remember where you read this….

Blake will be fired.
Manny will be fired.

Total clean slate in athletic department.

New AD hired (Highsmith to assist in some capacity)
Mario Cristobal hired.

In 2022, University of Miami work together with the ownership of Inter Miami and announce to expand plans of new stadium (by the airport) to 40K-45K seats and agree on a deal to share stadium.
I think you are correct on a lot of the football things as many of the things you mentioned have been confirmed by Cribby, NYCane, SouthParkcane and some others.

Now to the stadium: It’s easy for many here to laugh it up and completely dismiss it. I won’t.

Not sure when the lease expires but at some point down the road, it’s possible. How is it possible?

1) Jorge Mas - “You want me to pony up money for Mario or another HC? Then I need something in return. When the lease expires, have all or most of the games relocated to the new soccer stadium.”

2) Stadium is not built yet. It would be a traffic nightmare but to those making money, they don’t care about that. Stadium configuration doesn’t need much altering they way it would need to be altered for baseball. There are other properties in that area that can be bought for extra parking if necessary. You have rail service close by to walk to stadium.

3) Lots of politics involved hence why that stadium deal is not finalized. Now if you include both Inter Miami and the University of Miami advocating/politicking for the stadium, it helps Mas & Beckham get their stadium with added income from the university.

In summary - don’t dismiss the stadium partnership as a real possibility down the road.

its jan 16th or so. that's when it drops to 6.5 mill
That won't work with the early signing period. Someone (not me) needs to step up and offer the 2 mil to save the few studs we do have committed. Shiiiitttt. Bama drops that on a high 4*, we should be able to do it for multiple ballers.

There's the rub. Politics.

If people thought it was embarrassing to see a half full stadium with a capacity of 65,000, wait until they see that same thing in a smaller stadium. Other colleges will still be able to say no on-campus stadium and point out how they can't fill even a tiny stadium with fans.

It’s Miami!

This city/county - if it’s not the slimiest in the country, it’s certainly top 3. Dirty Politics will always play down here.

If they drove down before to the OB with a better parking situation at new location, they will drive down. For UM, being closer to campus (what - that stadium location is 5-7 miles from campus) is best case scenario in terms of proximity to campus.

HR, although easier for most fans, UM draws 25-45k vs ACC teams so for optics, makes the stadium look fuller in a 45k Stadium vs a 70k stadium.

The discounted cash flow for issue 1 is a huge negative number from the University of Miami's perspective. Financing a new coach is chump change when compared to the financial and intangible losses to the University and its fan base for relocating.

The OB was 14 years ago. Traffic's gotten worse and there are a whole lot of new people moved in. The best case scenario for a stadium further south is to maintain the same attendance. I know plenty of people up in Palm Beach County who simply will not tackle Miami traffic.

I live in Miami and it’s absolutely terrible but yet they just keep packing them in here.

Everything is a mission here.

I can’t wait to move out
