Wow. This guy doesn't fool around. He is going to make a concerted effort to purchase both the Marlins and the Dolphins. Also, if you have any questions about his concerns about the NCAA trying to come after Ruiz or this topic just watch this morning's YouTube on GFs channel.(not sure if putting the link is ok, if not, remove it.)

Pretty sure if you own an NFL team you cannot own an MLB/NBA/NHL team in the same market unless they have changed the rule. The NFL made an exception way back when after Katrina for the Bensons to buy the Pelicans to prevent them from leaving the city.

Edit - I got the rule backwards. That rule was in place until the mid 90s. In 2018 they allowed for NFL owners to buy other sports teams in different cities that have NFL teams. It is why Kroenke had the Denver teams in a corporation at the time.

didn't H Wayne own both the Marlins and the Phins?

Not sure what the exact rule is but I know Terry Pegula owns the sabers and bills.

Dolan owns the rangers and knicks.

Stan Kroenke owns the rams, nuggets, and avalanche.

John Henry and his group own the Red Sox and just purchased the penguins. Different market.

NFL owners voted Tuesday to lift the longstanding cross-ownership prohibition, meaning they are now free to own a different professional sports team in cities that have an NFL team. That change, approved at the league's annual fall meeting, could have a significant impact on the sports landscape.Oct 16, 2018

Tepper owns the Panthers and whatever the MLS team is called (Charlotte FC?).

The Panthers cost him $2.3bn to give you a ballpark figure for the Dolphins.
