Of course coral gables is already shooting down the idea about a stadium. That probably means no free school built for them.

Onto tropical park we go if I had to guess

Don't rule out the site north of Magic City Casino, it is VERY close to the soccer stadium site that the Mas brothers are working on.

Too bad we can't nuke Sunset Place. It's down the street from campus and takes up a large amount of land. It's also technically in South Miami, which is slightly less strict about stuff than Coral Gables.

The former site of Holsum Bakery, formerly owned by UM alum George Wilson and his wife Jane (whose father founded Holsum Bakery).

If only they had donated the land in the 1980s instead of building Bakery Centre...

They need to build an island for the stadium so everyone can show up on yachts as the most Miami thing ever. People can go party on international waters at halftime.
If it’s cool at Washington imagine how much cooler it would be at Miami

Basically just wants people to hear out his vision before they say yes or no.

Intends to build a stadium no matter what. Doesn’t have to be at CGSH but that’s the best location in Gables

Open to other locations like tropical park

Wants to build a state of the art facility and build another school elsewhere that encompasses the community with athletic facilities, classrooms, etc

Highlights? Wasn't able to listen.
I missed the majority of it but I was able to get about 20 minutes in. Honestly....he was mostly hyping his company lol and really nothing groundbreaking.

My biggest takeaway though is that John Ruiz (and his entire family) is 100% committed to this program and will absolutely do everything they can do to get us back to the promise land.
