Ruiz family attempting to build a stadium in Coral Gables...

If this happens, would we still use Hard Rock for the big games where tickets will need to far exceed 50k? Also, as much as I’d like this stadium to look like an OB replica (with modern amenities of course), I’d think having the canopy similar to Hard Rock is the way to go. Crowd noise is crazy there even with smaller crowds.
Good luck explaining that to sponsors. Why would miami lose out on all that gameday revenue? No way that happens if the stadium is ever built.

Put that money into assistant coaches, GAs, personnel/talent assessment (eg. Highsmith), consultants ( eg. nfl head coaches as DC or OCs). Basically all that Alabama already does but 10X more
I get it.

This may not happen.

But if it does the college football world is in for a surprise.

The only way to University Of Miami will ever have its own stadium, and I mean ever, is for a deep pockets multibillionaire to build it on his own dime. Minimum we are talking between $500 million-$1 billion to make something that people want to go to.

This is literally the only way it’s possible.

As far as the land and the moving of the high school, I’m no expert on the feasibility of that. But the first step is a deep pockets billionaire that is willing to pay for it himself, and not ask for any kind of governmental funding. The actual money and how to secure the funding has always been the issue. Obviously it’s never going to be built on campus, but if they can get around 20 acres somewhere else and solve the traffic feasibility, it’s possible. But I would say it’s a miracle if ground is broken in 2022.
Yeah, this is a different deal than the others people were raising. There’s no way it can break ground in 2022 though - they need to go through design and lot of approvals still. It’s a massive endeavor

They connection needed to get the approval just chill with all that hard to imagine crap.. we had people running this university who didn't care about football.. now we got new money stepping things up so long mediocrity 🤩🤩🤩
Woah there big guy. What we have is people saying they’re stepping up the money. So far it’s just talk. Let’s see some action.

Buy the Dolphins
Ruiz wants to do that, I'm down. He buys the Dolphins, clears out the other stupid crap from Hard Rock and turns it into a football playground for the Fins and Canes, and I'd be happy. I'm not even a Dolphins fan, but I'd love to see that. There's nothing and I mean NOTHING wrong with Hard Rock. The fans that whine the most about it are also the ones that haven't travelled to these other facilities, and honestly don't realize how good it is at Hard Rock.

Just some additional info here….

Michael Mena, Vice Mayor of Coral Gables and city commissioner is a partner at Ruiz’s law firm. He’s a rabid cane fan and was a super active poster on Grassy for a long time. Frank Quesada is about to be worth 7B in the same deal as Ruiz, is also a partner and also a former coral gables city commissioner. The more I think about this, the politics may be doable.

God ****, I love new money. Not afraid to fvck **** up and buck the status quo
