Rosier still starting

Stop it, Shirreffs can't even when the starting job at Charlotte.

Richt had plenty of opportunity to bring in JUCO or grad transfers at the QB position. Instead he just mismanaged the unit & let Allison leave while retaining shirreff. He doesn't get a pass for lack of depth, he gets the blame.

Given the way snaps were split up yesterday, Weldon and Williams are the 3rd/4th strings. So at this point it's either Rosier or Perry. I'm by no means qb expert, but against a FCS team that is moving down to D2, Perry did not show he is better than Rosier. Not that he shouldn't get considerable snaps the next few weeks, he should, but no matter how bad Rosier plays at times Perry still has to prove he can outplay him before he's the starter.

This is correct.

I think Perry is ultimately our best shot, but apparently he’s not quite ready. It may take time for him to be able to get in there and perform in an actual real game better than Rosier. Pretty sure that’s how the coaches see it. Whether I agree with it or not is irrelevant. That’s just how they see it. They just don’t feel the trust level with Perry right now so they want to work him in slowly.

I don’t think Richt has any love for Rosier, I just think Perry hasn’t shown him enough to make him think that Perry is better than Rosier, right now.

The scrimmage against SS was inconclusive.

Best case scenario is that we blow Toledo out from the get go or at least get a comfortable lead, and then Perry gets his shots the rest of the game. But I don’t think that’s going to happen. We better beat Toledo but they may be hanging around for the first half or even in the third quarter.

Now I’d love it if Rick would surprise me and even if it was close let Perry get in a few series.

Rosier starting is fine. He plays well, we win, I’m good.

He doesn’t play well, Perry gets the relief, and we figure out if the kid can play ... I’m good.

Only issue I’ll have is if Rosier struggles, and Richt doesn’t make the switch.

I agree. The buck always stops with the head guy. Let’s see how the season progresses.

I like most of the things Rick has done, from a program advancement standpoint and even some of the coaching. But the QB situation totally falls on him as well as the O line.

Rosier should be starting. Perry or whoever still needs seasoning. Rosier will start against Toledo and FIU. Perry will get burn. If Richt is gonna pull the trigger it'll be against NC.

Spot on. And I agree not as some Rosier apologist either.

I just don't know why some of the people around here can't accept reality. Rosier is going to continue to start and the backups are going to continue to get burn and ONLY after Rosier ****s the bed in the first half against a conference opponent will then Rick *contemplate making a move. He's not going to do it based off the action any of the backups saw against a beyond awful Savannah State team or based off previous practices where he obviously wasn't too enamored with any of them.

But by all means, some guys are going to make the same posts that Rosier is STILL starting post Toledo. And then the same posts following FIU.

Nobody has a clue if Jack Allison is going to be any good. Didn't play in a blow out against Tennessee. Was 1 for 3 for 4 yards in mop up against Youngstown State. Likely he left because he was pretty clear he was going to have to sit. We will see if he wins the WVU job after Grier leaves.

Richt won't make a change until toledo has us on the ropes. Perry did not outplay anybody this week. He showed promise but not enough. The oline was a much bigger disappointment.

I'm very interested to see if Perry gets any snaps early against Toledo when the game is still in doubt. If that's the case it'll be a good sign that CMR is serious about getting Perry ready. If he waits to see if there's any mop-up snaps available, then we'll most likely be riding the Rosier train most the season.

U would have to be a fool to think Richt would make a change. Of course he’s not. The bigger concern, to me, is that OL play. I didn’t read, but I saw one poster mention Richt stated that OL play wasn’t bad initially. If that’s the case, then Richt has become a senile fool, and that’s 100. Stop being soft and stubborn and move Donaldson back to guard and bring a rookie off the bench!

Cmr next presser someone please ask what are you on or smoking and where can it be bought.I need some that stuff that helps you forget what happened two minutes ago or the past.:cigar::cigar::troll-slap::shocked::chatzy::clapping1::clapping1:

Sadly, there was nothing in this game that Perry did to where anyone can say he is clearly better than Malik and deserves to start.

With that said, I think the coaches at least now have the confidence to roll Perry in the game for a series or two or more
This.

Neither Perry nor Weldon nor Williams showed anything that proved they were head over heels better than Rosier. And don't get me wrong, I've been ****ED with Malik's play over the last 4 games like a motherfer!!! But I also recognize the simple FACT that our coaches work with these kids every day; we read blips and random feedback here and there and post on a forum.

Of course, the anti-Richt gang spearheaded by Canes Dynasty and his little circle jerk "institution" crew will push a totally different narrative about how great the young QBs were and how Richt and his staff don't give a **** about winning and just want to play vets over talent, but none of that s-hit holds water.

Clearly based on the fact Perry came in early and not just in garbage time, CMR accepts that Malik has to win his spot too. But Perry was so-so, did a few ok things, also got bailed out by some great catches and threw an INT that all the anti-Rosier crowd would have been yelling incessantly about had it been thrown by Rosier (fact). The reality is, none of them looked exceptional; not Malik, not Perry, not Weldon, not Williams.

So, maybe it's not as simple as the anti-Richt blowhards think it is, huh?

I'd like to see Richt pull Rosier after the first qtr again in this upcoming game. Seeing those other 3 QBs get burn time was so exciting to see. Even if they mess up, our D can hold off FIU.

Shirreffs beat out Allison, that's why He left.
