Rosier still starting

If you thought that Rosier was going to be benched after Saturday's performance, well then I have some ocean front property in Nebraska to sell you.

He’s going to keep trotting Malik out there until Malik gets hurt or completely disintegrates. Then, Perry will come in ice cold with the team down by 21.

Rick has botched up the QB situation. If he wasn’t absolutely certain during the off-season that Perry was going to take the job, then he should have signed a grad transfer to take the job. Under no circumstances should he have gone into this season with Malik as his starter.

Malik getting hurt is not far fetched but I never want to wish injury on any Cane ...no matter how bad they are playing.
Malik is at a high risk for injury because when he cannot make throws, he tries to make up by trying to run down after down.
Unfortunately, DCs are gameplanning for it since the rape of ND last year. They are going to be head hunting if he tries that with good defenses like VT....

Why are yall suprised? The only way a change will possiby happen is when rosier struggles vs stronger opponents.
We saw that vs. LSU, Clemson, Wisconsin, **** even Pitt, UNC, and others. How much more struggling do we all need to suffer thru?

I disagree with people saying we didn't learn anything about Perry from Savannah State. He did okay in his first start. He didn't implode. He delivered mostly catchable balls. I only saw two bad passes. The INT and a pass well behind Langham--ironically, Rosier missed behind Langham on a nearly identical pass.

Look. We all know Rosier can be serviceable when he has a clean pocket and nobody in his face. We learned that Perry can do that too, plus has a fair bit more zip on his passes. We also know what happens to Malik when the O-line breaks down. We don't know what Perry will do in that situation because SSU wasn't able to present that challenge. I hope he gets some PT against Toledo, because I don't even trust our O-line to be able to hold their own against a MAC team full of 2* players. That will answer a few more questions about Perry. Does he keep his eyes down field under pressure, or does he tuck and run to quickly? Does he continue to play within himself when the heat is on, or does he try to do too much and become a TO machine? Those questions need answers before he will make a serious push for the starting job.

Well he's done that since 2017. It's going to take Rosier struggling and Perry coming in and winning the game and that might give him a legitimate shot to take the job the following week, making it a competition in practice and giving him a chance to seal the deal during the game.

They won the MAC and then got decimated in their bowl game by App State. And they lost Woodside and a ton of other talent.

If we don't absolutely roll these guys, we should all be concerned.

True, but that's not the point. The poster said he expected a dogfight like Samford/FSU where you can infer some type of equivalency. Silly comment. Toledo has won its division four times and its conference twice in the last 4 years. Good MAC program.

I don't disagree at all, and I fully realize that the win/loss transitive property doesn't apply in college, but we should/need to roll these guys. They're a very good MAC program, but at this point we should be a significantly better program.

They'll give us all they have and I expect a dogfight too, unfortunately, but not for the same reasons as FSU/Samford.

Smh with this, not looking forward to watching the team this Saturday

Y’all can down vote me, but this reminds me of Mark running that rpo stuff with kaaya who everyone and their mother knew was not a running, it took the four game losing streak to figure it out. I’m getting the same type of feeling with this situation

Perfect post.

The roster management has been a **** show, from de/dt recruiting , rolling with a true Fr kicker( that wasn’t good in hs), no grad transfer or juco te and no backup plan punter, even though the true Fr punter has the yips. Lastly to your point , if he was never going to give any of these guys a legit chance to take Rosiers job he should’ve brought in a grad transfer or juco qb. Actually getting snaps , and playing in games is the only way you improve. At this point we know what rosier is , and he’s stealing snaps from the kids.

All these decisions are catching up with the staff.

You still don’t know what RPO is, do you?

Did Toledo win the MAC last year? I thought Ohio kicked their *** at the end of the season. Made Toledo look like total garbage.
