Rooster

We went with a walkon because he kept fumbling. The same would have been true for any RB who kept fumbling.
That walk on is finding and hitting the hole harder than anyone besides Parrish too. Stanley has been way more than any of us could've hoped for IMO. He only started one game and rushed for 215 yards in his senior year at UAB (he played in 13 games too).

He hits the hole hard though and falls forward. He's been impressive.

If Thad accelerated and hit the hole hard like Stanley does he'd be the guy we thought he was going to be. Stanley just doesn't have the physical tools to blow you away but he's played good football for us in his role

A few examples of how he was effective last year and could be this year. Imagine if he transfers to the right spot, he will have a nice career going forward, wish him the best.
He is an asset in the passing game. Our entire passing game this year has been trash and he is one of many guys not being put in a position to succeed. That said, he is not natural or consistent enough running the ball to be getting reps in this offense where we need to be moving forward and hitting the holes hard

If you watch him playing last year, I cannot understand why wehaven‘t had a single long run or catch out of the backfield this season. I mean that cannot be all on Gattis, can it?

You mean like the screen pass against MTSU where he dropped the ball for our third straight TO?

Rooster was good last year and flashed. Something is wrong this year and this team is better off without 2022 Rooster. We are better with 2021 Rooster.
From the very start this year Rooster and Thad were not right it was glaringly obvious but much denial here when anyone mentioned anything.

They played butt hurt and there attitude showed in there play both were given plenty opportunities here and chosen butt hurt attitudes.

As far as the portal it won’t be good they’ve shown there goods for all to see unless they go the JC route they’ll have a chance but surly not D-I.

The U gave them everything they chose not to take advantage of everything we offered they could have been BEASTS especially with Chaney and Citizen down the door of opportunity was WIDE open and they stared at it with ??? of now what.

I’m not saying anything offensive here just sharing what they’ve shown themselves in there play.

Our second and third string RB out playing both of them they lost PT .

The JC route is there best option if they want to be back up RB , they should stay and get an awesome degree here change there attitudes and who knows maybe another shot again it’s there choice .

What a difference a year makes….

if it was Halloween 2021, 100% of the blame would be on Manny Diaz, but 2022, all Rooster…

🤔
This makes total sense to me.

Most people will blindly blame the OL & coaching staff early in a RB's career & defend that player to the death (if that RB is highly rated).....and then by their Junior/Senior year, those same people tend to realize that's just who the player is.

- Henry Parrish averaged 5.1 ypc at Ole Miss. He's averaging 4.9 at Miami
- Cam Harris averaged 5.2 ypc under Richt/Enos. He averaged 5.2 under Lashlee
- Knighton averaged 3.9 ypc under Lashlee. He's averaging 3.8 under Gattis
- Knighton has for 3 straight years averaged a full yard less than our leading rusher in the same system

People wildly overestimate the coaches effect on the RB's performance. The RB is almost always the same dude their whole career.

There's a fine line between "reasons" and "excuses" for poor performance. Players like Knighton, Cam, Walton are a great exercise in being able to identify the difference

But on CIS last year it was manny and not knighton but this year is it Knighton and not Mario.

It was probably Knighton the whole time, but…

Exactly:

Frosh/Soph - Every excuse is made for the RB & Blame is placed somewhere else. Example - Manny/Lashlee/Scheme with Knighton
JR/SR - People slowly realize it was just the RB all along

People are still blaming Gattis/OL/Scheme/How he's used - but if a RB can't get over 4.0 ypc for 3 straight years - it's pretty obvious where the problem lies.

I'd say about 80%-90% of the time if a RB is good, you see it right away. There's no need for excuses, they're just good right off the bat.

Who's the last good RB to come out of Broward?

Devin Singletary & Sony Michel. South Florida has been pretty dry for producing RB's since 2014.

Dade hasn't been much better. Zack Moss might be the best since Dalvin Cook

And a subset refuse to blame Mario for anything…

Which is more likely than people here paying close enough attention to or growing their football knowledge enough to differentiate a player’s ability vs injuries vs scheme, etc
