First of, I'm not sure why this guy was hired in the first place, let alone, ow he was allowed to last this long. Anyway, some interesting names being paraded for his replacement, starting with none other than Pete's boy, Butch.

I think Butch takes it if offered.

Not like he's doing anything else, and like mentioned, he is Pete Garcia's homeboy.

Also seen Coley and Eddie Gran mentioned. Wouldn't shock me to even see Diaz in the mix if Butch passes.
 
Diaz would be dumb to take that right now. Put in a year or 2 here and he's looking at a much better job.

Pete Garcia may be next.
 
They'll probably stay internally and hire Ron Cooper as the full time coach, or maybe Tim Harris, Lol.
 
If I'm FIU, I fire Pete Garcia ASAP and then go look for an AD who will find me a coach that runs wide-open stuff.
Go look for a young guy from the Mike Leach coaching tree.
This thing with hiring coaches that run NFLish offenses is dumb at that school.
So many fast kids down there, you run an offense that attracts that type of talent.
But knowing FIU, and especially Pete Garcia, they will go after Diaz because of his Miami Cuban
background plus because he is always looking to fck with UM.

Garcia is already stepping down in 2018. FIU doesn't want to buy him out when he's just leaving.

Gran would be their best choice. If not, I'd go after an Art Briles disciple. Maybe even his son.

Agreed. FIU will never compete with Miami, UF, or FSU. They should focus on being competitive in their conference and using the scraps the big three and OOC schools leave behind. Play a wide open offense. At least be entertaining.
