Riley Williams and Isaiah Horton

Josh has never really played and has done nothing. He would be basically DT #5 here and wouldn’t be playing
Sure, I didn't mean he would start, just that we'd be better off with him on the roster (and he'd be better off too here just like the other Horton).

I think he'd be DT4/5 depending on how strong the other team is at running the ball. It would be nice to have a 4th DT who weighs more than 270 lbs against stronger running teams. Perhaps Russell or Simpson will do fine if called upon in that spot in ACC play?

Simpson and jones are both way over 270. We aren’t really facing any heavy running teams outside fsu. And even them it’s not like they are a power run team

My issue with all of them:
They all appear to take the easy path vs working harder. Thus, they are less likely to elevate the team.

It's not as simple when some other school is offering a big raise. Wouldn't you take a big raise from another company rather than "work harder" and hope for a big raise at your current one?

As for Riley, he left for family reasons. I wish he stuck it out here.

Yes I realize that, but we also haven't played either one of them when a game has been in doubt. Blount has been the 4th DT when we aren't blowing a team out.

I think Louisville's running game will test our depth inside.

Horton to me isn’t a loss. We are getting the production from the replacements just fine.

Riley Williams here would have been an infinitely better upgrade to what we have right now, IMO. Still can’t believe this kid threw away his career because he was homesick.

If I remember correctly, Williams’ mom or dad was all on Twitter complaining about how UM only wanted him to block and wasn’t using him as a receiver. Home boy has only made an appearance in two games and caught one pass so far this year. He likely would have been our starting tight end. Sometimes you just gotta learn about the grass not always being greener.
A "geographical cure", as the late Greg Harden said... you're meeting the same exact people at a different place.

Nah even with louisville their backs are small speed guys. And their o-line doesn’t match up with our d-line

Isaac Brown, yes mostly. He's not averse to running in the A-gap; he's just much more dangerous outside The other Brown will definitely test our interior:

From last Saturday. He's the same size as Marty Brown (so many Browns, lol).

I don’t see them testing anything. I don’t think their o-line is all that great

Not gonna blame Riley hs is still a kid and missed his momma....

Horton is just a horrible decision. He knew he was leaving a place that was the number O in the country last year and where he was likely slated to be WR1 to a place where he had to fight to be WR3. He should be able to sue everyone who told him to leave on the count of them taking advantage of a stupid person.

We could use both. As for whether it was a good decision to leave, as I understand it personal reasons played heavily for both.

It’s a weird case because he went to high school at IMG of all places, so he should of been acclimated to being home sick

Honestly fine all these guys left. They’re mid. Best of luck elsewhere and in something other than sports.

I haven’t heard a “who” from Horton since he left. 🐘💩

No but I am high as a kite on morphine and oxy post major surgery. Lol pardon me if my thoughts aren’t clear.

I’m still wondering how he defines jags. We agree on 87.

I guess every kid is a jag unless they start and perform at a high level. It doesn’t matter if a future nfl starter is ahead of them…you didn’t beat them out so you are a jag!
How about instead of asking @cway313 to define a word he already defined, you tell us how YOU define the word JAG?

It seems you don't understand what a JAG is.

We have three transfers who are playing decent ball -- Brinson at SMU, Chris Graves at Ole Miss, Kelly over at UCF. Darrell Jackson if you even count him.

We have a bunch of guys that are contributing on P4 teams. CJ would probably have the same role with us as he has for Lashlee, so I think that one's a lose/lose. Jaleel Skinner is with the ones at Louisville. Nice kid, bad fit for the blocking TE Mario demands. Kaleb Spencer starts for Va Tech at LB. Zion Nelson -- yes THAT Zion Nelson -- splits starting reps at LT for SMU. Looking forward to seeing how Bain and Mesidor greet him when we play. Karnley is in the rotation at UVA. Robert Stafford starts at UCLA and Dyoni Hill starts for Wisconsin. Might explain why those teams are so bad this year.

We have another group that found homes. Jaden Wayne is second team for Cal, nothing special. Jamil Burroughs is second string DT at Mississippi State, nothing special. Savion Riley second string S at Ga Tech now, nothing special. Freeney benchwarmer at Boise State. Tripp starts at RG for FIU. Ajay Allen is 3rd back and rotates in at Tulsa. Robby Washington is in the rotation at Coastal Carolina, has 114 yards receiving in 4 games. Zaquan Patterson landed at Alabama State after being dismissed from the team at Oklahoma State. Shemar Kirk starts for Austin Peay at WR, has 150 receiving yards in 3 games. Rudolph is third string DE at UNLV. Poffenbarger is QB2 at North Texas. Tre'vonte Citizen is at McNeese State and putting up decent stats now. Given his injury, good to see he rehabbed his way back onto the field.
Zion looks huge.

Love that he fought through the injury and is back playing football. Just wish that it were here.

Horton in 3 games 9 rec 105 2 TDs. From what I understand, he wasn’t comfortable w the playbook initially, & DeBoer made a concerted effort to get him more targets against Wisky. Kalen could be heard on the sidelines running to Horton screaming “I told you, I told you, just be patient & we got u” after he scored his TD. Also, it’s been reported that Horton hasn’t been playing at 100% to start the season dealing w a lower extremity injury.
