Richt's quote about which QB to go with

Quit blaming Perry redshirt freshmen making his first start in a hostile environment.cmr should've kept Perry in and gave him easy plays to build his confidence.Perry int came from him throwing deep with safety over the top.Virginia played safety deep to take away the big play.even the announcers were saying we needed to got to the shallower routes.cmr play calling cost us this game.

Picture this. Rosier plays the rest of the season which means numerous losses and close games so Kosi doesn't play a single down the rest of the season. Kosis next time getting actual reps will be in Orlando against UF in a packed stadium that will be reminiscent of the Swamp.

heres a question ---- what the **** is Richt gonna do next year without his security blanket, Rosier ?

I don't get any of the lovefest with Rosier. At all. GFC man this fanbase is cokerized beyond belief. HE LOST TO PITT WITH AN UNDEFEATED SEASON ON THE LINE. HE DIDN'T "FEEL IT" WITH AN UNDEFEATED SEASON ON THE LINE. He shouldn't be allowed to travel with the team, he should take the short bus and Corch Richt can drive it.

That could be true but we still would have beaten Virginia. Could he beat the good teams? No! But Kosi isn't going to either.
.
There is not a single thing that Rosier has shown he can do better than Perry. Not one. Rosier's decision making is every bit as bad as that of a Freshman QB, and at least the Freshman is learning and developing. Rosier had one interception, and should have had a second if not for Thomas batting the ball away from the defender. Those throws by Rosier were every bit as bad as Perry's interceptions.

Was that game all on him? I'll be honest I didn't see that game I was on vacation. But I do think he can beat bad teams away in most cases.l Kosi looked like he was playing his first HS game.
...and Rosier didn't look any better than Perry against Virginia.

This is why he should have played last year. Of course this is the coach that couldn't keep the best qb's in GA from going elsewhere. As others have said, and thinking about Sitkowski being committed, maybe he really doesn't know what decent qb play looks like anymore.

A lot of our questions are answered within this paragraph.

“The bottom line is we must be loyal to each other,’’ Richt said. “And that’s paramount. That’s true of any really good team. We know that people are going to question a lot of things. People are going to say this or say that. The only thing we can do is stay strong from within."

Signed,

Peruche

If this were a situation where we had a steady, "game manager" type Senior QB who won't win a game for you, but at least won't lose it for you, and the coach decided to pull the young QB who has playmaking ability but makes mistakes, that would at least make sense. But our Senior QB makes all of the same stupid plays, bad reads, etc. of a Freshman QB, while also not having the ability to do half of what the Freshman QB can do. Rosier doesn't belong on the field over Perry.

When Richt first pulled Perry I figured it was for one or two series, to let Perry settle down a little, which would have been good coaching. Keeping Rosier in the rest of the game was a REALLY bad call.

1 series should have been it

he was awful, WR open all day couldn't hit one, defense played well enough to win, as Rosier said that game he didn't care, just like he doesn't care now
The Pitt game was 1000% on rosier. As TD said, our wrs were just wide open on almost every play and 12 couldn't get a ball to any of them. He even missed a few bubble screens by 5+ yds. It was one of the worst qb displays ive ever seen at any level.

Exactly. In the Pitt game last year Rosier looked like Richt had just grabbed some guy out of the stands and asked him to play QB. He was terrible and looked like he had no idea what he was doing.

That's why I don't understand Richt's favoritism towards Rosier. Richt was quick to pull Perry for a few boneheaded mistakes in less than half of a game, but Richt is incredibly patient with Rosier and allowed him to stay on the field game after game despite making the same boneheaded mistakes on a regular basis.

The QB play is merely symptomatic of the disease. It must be cured at the source.

Richt doesn't understand how to install wrinkles that work against different schemes.... motion can clear out or confuse defenses....doesnt understand how to utlize his plays that work well like the jet sweep to Thomas or Harley....the wildcat with Dallas.....he has no 2min off....waited til his back was against the wall to call a screen play....not only does he need to learn how to install a few week to week bailout wrinkles....Richt might not be a good playcaller anymore period....its evident he chokes under pressure....sometimes his players bail him out.....its never the other way around...
