Richt-"This Gus Edwards kid is pretty dang good"

I've been on the Gus Bus since he first signed with us.

He's the best RB we've had in some time. I was a fan of Duke, but Gus Bus brings more to the table.

In short, he's pretty dang good.

You'll remember that I was on him before anyone else. I was on the Gus Bus before Parrotnose even found a video of him.

You were on him early, but not that early: Parrotnose had video of Augustin from his first birthday party.

The one with the ninja turtle cake?

You've seen it too?

All of these backs are just holding it down until Homer gets in the swing of things, none of these guys touch him in athleticism..

Mark likes them big. Problem is Gus tends to run small. If Mark can get him using that size then we might have something. Remember the days when we had fullbacks who carried the ball a lot? Mark was here then. I Gus would be nice in that role.
The Brandon Jacobs syndrome. Dude was a beast when he ran north and south but he had a tendency to run parallel to the los, and would also get ankle tackled alot....

Miami doesn't possess anybody right now on the roster that has shown themselves equal to what he had at GA over the years.

That truth is painful. It has been some time.

He doesn't have to. He has a better QB.

It does not matter if we have Adrian Peterson back there, everyone is getting tackled for a loss if Alex Gall is in the game. WTF, how is that guy on our team? I think Richt gets KC and Trevor's lights turned on this year, hopefully these guys breakout.

Say it again brother..

I think it was and still is a mistake to pigeon hold Gus to a particular running style because he's a big back. I would venture to say he's the fastest of the three (not including Gray) has a good stiff arm as well let him run to daylight and focus on finishing his runs well in short yardage . (pad level down)

While looking at his highlights I ran across the V-Tech game when we we up like 30-6 and Duke Johnson was injured running into the VT bench and then injured more severely I believe out for the year 2014 in a 30-6 game how stupid was that to play Duke in an obvious win.. SMDH.

I feel like we have been saying this every year about Gus.

All I know is that he ran 3rd team at the Spring game. I didnt even like his body language. Man I remember when MaGahee use to run for 100+ yards during the spring game and didnt care who was blocking in front of him. Gus just didnt have that vibe of, "You know what..F it..so what im 3rd string..im going to make these walk-ons and scrub LBs feel me every time I touch the ball.."... Didnt do anything and just had a bad feel about himself.

I would love for Gus to turn into the 6'1 230 4.5 beast that he should be...but the jury is still out on him..

Gus has been here for 4 years and has one big run. It shouldn't take 3 years to prove what u have at RB. If Gus had "it" we would of seen it by now.
