the week leading up to the ACC title game.

Find a high school field to practice on for the week.

I wouldn't want them coming back to Miami 80 degree weather.

Their bodies need to adjust to the cold.

Everything is on the line and I don't want weather to effect us at all and we all know it has in the past (champs sports bowl in a 50 degree night game comes to mind). Charlotte will be hovering at 40 at kickoff.

The whole theory of it not mattering what it feels like in this big of a game is BS.
Someone's body used to warm climates will be much much more cold compared to someone who is used to it under any circumstances.

I used to freeze my ******* nuts off when I came back to Nashville for Xmas from school in Miami. Now that I live here full time the weather in Dec isn't so bad.

If we are flying in from a warm weather practice week we will be at a disadvantage unfortunately

I think this whole theory about being student-athletes might be the bigger problem with your suggestion here.

You're not wrong about acclimating to weather, but these young men are students and may not be able to break away from school obligations for a full week.

The university president need to excuse them from assignments that week or let them finish the assignments after dec 2. Would be a non issue

Isn't there two weeks? I thought the Army Navy game is played the weekend before conference championships?

That team was soft, this team isn't. In 03' we went to Pitt in the last week of season and kicked their *** to clinch the Big East title and it was like 30 degrees. Just man up and go win the game. Part of playing football nation wide is dealing with climate differential.

The jrs and srs have played in cold weather before. They have played at pitt and in the snow in el paso.

The OP is just out and out silly. They should, as much as possible, prepare for the ACCCG in the same way that they prepared for every other game this season. Do you honestly think that cooping them up in a hotel in Charlottesville (which is, to be charitable, pretty much a ****hole) is going to make them more relaxed and focused than following the same routine they've been following all season?

And as far as the temperature, 40 degrees isn't all that cold, and it's going to be the same for both teams. Clemson isn't exactly Minnesota, by the way.

I’m up here in PA & it is getting cold cold. I feel awful for anybody from Florida that has to come up here lol

A thing you forget is the acedemic side. Irma screwed up the acedemic schedule too. Most students can't go to the ACCCG because we have finals.......to ask the players to miss a whole week would work at bama, but they'd get torched here

I've been in North Carolina for 3 years after living in Miami for 18. I'm still not acclimated to the winter weather. 2 weeks away from Miami won't do **** for them.

That gets us out of our regular routine. We wouldn't have our usual equipment, diets, film rooms, practice field, on and on.

I get what you're trying to say regarding the weather - but even NFL teams wouldn't do this, and they don't have school.

Lived in S for close to 20 and then 5 more in the winters out in Vegas now. As we get older we can't take this cold and never will, we go to Yuma anytime we can in the winter. Gotta come back to SF for the winters again very soon. Canes are better we can come back. Hopefully they can get up to NC a few days early.
