Richt........please scrap the FB dive play to Gray

Sometimes I'm not sure what planet some fans are living on. The full back dive has been one of the biggest adjustments this year after our short yardage offense was non-existent in years passed. I think we might run it too much, but it's a good set to have.

This. Also do not discount the possibility of a fake/PA to the FB later in the season for a big play

There's no such thing as running a FB play up the middle too much as long as it works.
And so far it has been one of our best running plays for first downs and TDs.

this. if we continue converting on 3 and 4 and short with the dive play, who tf cares how many times you run it. we STRUGGLED to convert those in the past and this opens a lot up on the earlier downs knowing you have confidence in getting a short yard conversion through a simple handoff.

Seriously? We should stop a short yardage play that has worked just about every time? F that. Run that almost every time in short yardage.

I’d still like to see a play action to Gray and then have them throw to him running up the seam, like Najeh Davenport.

Looking for the fake to the fb and a toss to the rb. Feel like it’s been setup. But we have been so
Much more efficient on 3rd dkwn this year, keep using what works.

Lets not bump this **** weekly. OP surely understands now. Its a great play and has been utilized very well.

I am a very happy guy seeing Choc finally getting some real burn and scoring touchdowns.

He's been great on this play. Can't wait to hit one over the top with it or we hit that Spider2YBanana to a wide open Choc for a touchdown in a clutch situation.

With that said...as a blocker...Choc...I'm happy when he just gets in someones way :)

I just Feel like it will be a play that richt will use too much and it gets repetitive and or predictable and not work as good as it would if you can actually surprise the opponent with it
This is the only play he has used since then on 3rd and 1 or so

Dude tiptoes like a tap dancer and the OL gets zero push.

Thanks
You are aware that Choc had converted every single one of them this season prior to being stopped on that 4th down last night, right?!? And, perhaps not coincidentally, it was the first time he tried to dive over the pile rather than just plowing into it.

I couldn't disagree with your post more. I think the usage of Choc at FB has been one of the few good coaching things CMR and the offensive staff have done this year.

Sorry, posted before I realized the original post was old.

Correction, he got stopped on the previous play too.

The FB drive to Gray is good but in classic richt fashion it's entirely too predictable.

I mean, even if it wasn't...its still got like a 90% success rate lol

Of all the **** to bytch about after the last game, this would be at the very bottom of the list. Pick your battles, brother.
