Richt on radio today

I feel a little bit better at least Richt isn't downplaying / defending Rosier's performance. Rosier will find a way to struggle against Savannah State delaying when the youngster get in the game.

Based on what Richt said I think he thinks Williams is the guy if there is anyone to replace Rosier.

It's time everyone gets out of their feelings. Malik will start and if he continues to be the starter then it's on Perry, not CMR.
We have two quarterback coaches and it’s solely Perry’s fault if he doesn’t start? Why is little Richt not attached at the hip to these guys making sure they know what they are doing? Why did Richt hand the job to Malik so quickly instead of letting the other quarterbacks get more reps with the ones and progressing as players before making a decision. I feel like Richt is coaching all the quarterbacks as well as coaching his son about quarterbacks and wanting it to translate into his kid being a qb coach. I would be willing to wager that Mark spends as much time explaining things to his son as he does the quarterbacks.

Please stop making excuses. More and more teams are starting TF QBs. Richt is using that excuse to cover for his son who is sh*t at developing quarterbacks.

Bingo

this is exactly what it is, to **** your with your son richt! This AINT ABOUT YOUR **** SON IT'S ABOUT THE MIAMI HURRICANES YOUR SON DON'T EVEN BELONG ON THIS GAWD **** TEAM

selfish fckin prick

I think Rosier will start the next 2 games but I doubt he remains the starter by the end of the month. Richt has no reason to be married to him. If he doesn't dominate Toledo then Jarren can take over at home vs. FIU giving him 2 games (UNC the other) to warm up for FSU. If Jarren isn't ready then throw in Weldon as he can replicate Rosier's skillset running the same plays. He can't possibly be worse than Malik.

Just wasting time, any snap in practice or game that rosier takes is a wasted rep for the other qbs. We dont have time to worry about hurt feelings. He needs to be benched yesterday

Savannah St, @ Toledo, FIU & UNC. He won't get a better chance to break in a freshman than THAT 4 game stretch. It may be the friendliest stretch he'll see his entire time at Miami. Three home games, against much less talented teams & a with a road game just difficult enough to let them see what playing in a road atmosphere is like.

If he trots Malik out against Toledo, you'd have to think he starts him against FSU. Cmr isn't using the short week of the UNC game as a freshman tuneup for FSU.

Malik starting against FSU is a clear lose lose. If Malik flops against FSU, cmr will face major backlash. If Malik beats FSU, we'll be delaying the inevitable again. At this point, I think we all realize one good game from Malik doesn't mean he won't fck up again THE NEXT WEEK at Virginia. What's worse, a win against FSU doesn't even mean he will have played well. I don't think its worth risking. If he pulls Malik AFTER the FSU game, 4 of our next 6 games are on the road. Inluding the first game after FSU, the Friday "trap game" against Boston College & a trip TO Blacksburg.

As a wise man once said, "fool me once, shame on.. Shame on u. Fool me.. You can't get fooled again."

I remember that. UGA fans were so mad at him for playing Joe Tereshinski over Stafford.

FYI:

Tereshinski was the starting quarterback until injuring his ankle in the second game of the season. He was replaced by freshman Matthew Stafford. After the 5th game of the season, Georgia coach Mark Richt said that Tereshinski's ankle had healed and that he would again be the starting quarterback for Georgia's 6th game, against the Tennessee Volunteers. Georgia's Tereshinski led offense had a considerable lead going into halftime, but after a disastrous second half, Georgia suffered a 51-33 loss to Tennessee. Tereshinski started again the next week, against the Vanderbilt Commodores, and the entire Georgia offense was once again lackluster in a 24-22 loss. After the game, Richt benched Tereshinski in favor of Stafford.

CMR said of Williams multiple times during camp...."he doesn't always know who to throw it to, but when he throws it he hits his target."

I've seen tape of his ability to stand in the pocket and deliver, and also throw darts while scrambling.

I honestly don't give a **** at this point if he doesn't make the right read all the time. We are running a child's offensive scheme as it stands. I am sure the kid could handle it.

I will take a true freshman, who most agree is the program's future at QB, who will make a wrong read sometimes but hit his targets over our 5th year senior who has questionable ability to makes the right reads anyways and also has horrible accuracy.

Put in the kid who was actually recruited as a **** QB, and not a frigging baseball player. Williams has to have a higher QB IQ. He has better raw QB talent. The kid is likely smart enough that as the weeks go on, you can open up more playbook options. Any more time wasted with Rosy is detrimental to the team as a whole, and puts the development of our future stars behind one snap at a time.

Didn't richt make a statement about Jarren Williams completing a pass but it wasn't to the receiver the play was designed for and richt got on his case about it? That is some straight Goldenesque "don't rise to the occasion, but lean on your training" type of crap right there.

You have fair points in your post especially about Lil Richt being attached at the hip. I'm not totally defending CMR. I just think he's in a tough spot.

Depressing.

I get it and i'm not happy about it either, but why beat a dead horse. Sucks, sure does. I guess i feel like i understand CMR is in a tough spot at HC. You don't want to absolutely destroy Malik's confidence because, even if a switch is made, there will be a point in time this year that we need him again.

I hope for my happiness, my dogs happiness, my families happiness that a move is made and we see anyone else but 12. Like a lot of people said, which is very logical, if that's what 12 does then why not see Kosi? If our oline sucks then put the kid who can actually throw while his feet are in motion back there. It can't get worse and the team might rally. I agree with all of this, however i'm not willing to trash our coach, our OC, maybe the gripes about his son are justified, but i will also look at reality and come to grips with what is about to happen. Only thing that made my weekend tolerable was horrid show that school in the panhandle put on last night.

Why will there be a point in time this year that we need him again? He shouldn't ever take another snap unless the other 3 scholarship QBs are injured. We might not win with the other 3, but we definitely won't win with Rosier.

He didn't really say much of substance, just a bunch of coach speak, the likes of which we've heard the last 18 yrs.
We gotta work harder, blah, blah, blah. It all sounds too familiar.

you guys can forget it, corch richt is stubborn and arrogant in his belief that he can turn rosier and ANY other quarterback into a gem

there's not a **** football coach in this country that wouldn't bench rosier and see else he has in a LIVE game situation.. except golden

get over it, and I don't care what he did with that 1 million dollar donation to the IPF, at this point he's stealing FOUR million from the university with this garbage product he has rolled out there the last 4 games

this ain't georgia corch

We won't see another D like the one we just saw outside of FSU. Malik is good enough to win games against teams should the others not be ready. I get we're all really ****ed, like really really ****ed at the thought of Malik, but i just feel like we need to keep Malik engaged and ready. Everyone here says our D sucks and Weldon in scrimmages was a turnover machine. Not what i want out there to be honest.

I cant tell if developing QBs is the issue bc NOBODY has seen how any of these other qbs look besides Rosier... theyre using the excuse that Rosier is ahead but that's bs at this point.

All veterans are going to know more than a freshman in terms of the playbook and where to point on a video screen or chalk board where the ball should go... but live action is a different story, and it's no way in **** that either of the qbs behind Rosier are any worse than Rosier's play over the last several games. It's not possible bc if they were that bad it wouldve shown in high school and they would all be 0 star recruits competing for a walk on spot at a local community college.

On if he play the young quarterbacks against Savannah State on Saturday: “We’ll treat it that way at every position. We want to play as many guys as we can. There were some young guys that have gotten in the game this past week and some that didn’t get in the game that we do want to get in there. We’re going to find a way to have a game plan to get those guys playing time. they need playing time.
“You know, the game against LSU is probably not the best way to break in kids from high school into that type of a situation. Some of them had to play. Some of them were really ready. Some were not quite so ready and they had to get in their anyway.

This sounds encouraging and shows that Rosier is in a short leash. Understandable that he does not want to start the young dudes vs LSU D. If we continue to see Perry /Weldon getting snaps against the scrubs over the next four games we might see them permenantly soon🙏🏻

Rosier should not be on a leash. He should be sent to the pound.
