This is an absurd take, IMO. Michael Jordan can give advice on basketball. He’s not a problem. But if he gives the advice to a short fat slob, it won’t matter.

JJ is one of the few best fb coaches ever. He built a great staff. He evaluated better than anyone, right there with Butch, who learned at his side. He understood scheme, innovated in that era, motivated players and had Parcell’s ability to understand how different guys had to be dealt with. JJ can give advice all day long, and is really above criticism in that regard without far more data than anyone here has. But who is he giving advice to? He didn’t hire Clappy, Radio, Gluten, Pricht or Goofy. Bill Belichick could give them advice too. Wouldn’t matter one lick. You going to blame Bill? Unless you think nick Saban’s advise would matter here, you’re playing out a losing hand. (Hint: it wouldn’t ... because you can’t turn chick**** into chicken.)

News flash; Johnson could've given Manny all the greatest advice in the world and he could've heeded every bit of it. Doesn't change the fact he took over a team that was 7-9 going back to Pitt in 2017, got their azzes handed to them in bowl game, 35-3 against Wisconsin—and is breaking in an entirely new offensive staff, young o-line, no proven quarterback, et al.

Not gonna fix that **** overnight, no matter who is giving you advice.

Bryant McKinnie was supposed to come by multiple times but after his first visit he thought the team was pretty much helpless. He didn’t come back.
 
Jimmy shoulda put Manny in head lock/choke hold, start squeezing and saying...
JJ: “WE DON’T PLAY CONSERVATIVE MF WE DOMINATE! SAY DOMINATE!”
MD: “DOMINATE!”
JJ: (Squeezing tighter) “SAY IT AGAIN - LOUDER!”

Then he should have said so in the offseason, rather than swinging ropes like Tarzan and beating his chest with TNM bull crap. We’re all grown up, and appreciate a legit analysis of where the team is. Don’t tell us this is a rebuild 5 games in. Don’t tell us about “the best practice ever” bull crap. why the **** does this team seem to repeat the same mistakes over and over again, every game? Why is it always the players’ fault after every loss? At some point, you as an adult, become responsible for this crap. If not, please refund the millions you are scamming this university for.
 
It depends who is doing the listening when JJ talks. Bill Belichick, the Minnesota Twins, and the San Antonio Spurs certainly have all benefited when they have gone fishing with JJ. Jimmy is at the point of his life where he is not going to spell it out or hit you over the head with logic and reason or right and wrong. He is going to speak in case study mode and parables. Suiting for a man of his stature. Thus, if Randy, Golden, and Manny could not siphon out the gold nuggets, that would bet their fault.
