Reilly Gibbons to Stanford

LOL The excuses of education come into play. Remember FSU held on to their prize recruit in Winston when Stanford came in late. But people say it's impossible to beat out a Stanford education. Need to change our name to Excuse U.

And really people. The kid is a 3 star OT who would be squarely behind Flowers, KC McDermott and Trevor Darling. A kid needs a chance to shine and they churn out NFL lineman st Stanford now with that scheme.

You guys screamin bloody murder are hilarious on this one. I'll rant with ya about a local stud...but this is Reilly Freakin Gibbons! I'm sure they can grab someone to fill this slot. Odugwu? Freakin Alex Gall was the 17th ranked OT by Scout.com last year...Gibbons was 29TH! TWENTY NINTH!!!

Wow, great fan. First, this is a big loss....watch the tape. Second, acting like this is why kids don't care about leaving at the 11th hour....nice support.

I AM blaming the kid for fcking us at the 11th hour. But unless this kid had his sights set on being a pro football player, getting a degree from Stanford is a golden ticket. A full ride to Stanford, if you actually care about education and a degree is pretty hard to pass up.

Read the **** article. Kids father is gushing about the Stanford education and what an opportunity that is. He barely mentioned football as a reason the kid flipped.

The pressure on Golden if he doesn't add anyone else (would you really be surprised at this point), is going to be unbelievable. Oh man.

You guys are a bunch of girls. Kid made a decision to go to Stanford one of the best schools in the country. If he is willing to be that far from home he is making the right choice. can't even be debated and it has nothing to do with miami.

I don't usually bag on kids, but this is a **** move. By the kid and his parents. A family of ****es.

And our staff is an embarrassment to cluster****s all around the globe.

I have no problem with any kid picking duke or Stanford over miami. But the family kept saying reilly was solid the whole time and wouldn't take visits anymore. More disappointed in our staff than the kid. I understand how great the education is, but it was just a shady move.

Why disappointed in the staff if his family said he was solid and not taking anymore visits?

Because when a kid has been committed for 9 months+ I expect them to sign with us. Idc that gibbons said it has nothing to Miami. If you told Gibbons a good enough pitch, he would've said no to Stanford because it was too late and he would've signed with Miami.

Are his parents lawyers or something along those lines?
I don't think a "pitch" would have kept him committed to UM.
Basically, he is going to a better school, academically, and right now their football program is superior to ours.
No brainer.
I do agree it's still a byitch move to do this late in the recruiting cycle, especially if our coaches didn't
know they took the visit to Stanford.

I honestly think there is a bit of an overreaction here. Yea, it sucks we lost him.

Is it a big loss? No.

hearing that NICK LINDER may be following in his sister's footsteps to FSU. anyone else hear that???

A month ago all i wanted was to retain the class... couldn't even have that.

******* terrible last month of recruiting.

Like I said a couple of weeks ago, if we just kept what we had and added nothing I'd be ecstatic.

Welp.

Lol at the people saying you can't pass up a chance at a Stanford education like Miami is a **** school. GTFOH

The pressure on Golden if he doesn't add anyone else (would you really be surprised at this point), is going to be unbelievable. Oh man.

This I agree with. If we don't get anyone on Wednesday there will be some really angry people.

Kc and darling are both Rt or G, odogwu rt, gabodois rt. Flowers is the only true Lt we have and gibbons was going to play Lt.

Every time there is a decommitment, I just don't understand the group of people who justify it. Bethel is the only one where people shouldn't have been upset or finding an excuse for.

When is the next "GETTING WORKED" coming out?

It is NOT impossible to beat out Stanford. If a kid is serious about football and wants to go to the NFl then they aren't going to give a Fck about a degree from Stanford. But some kids may not see the NFL in their future.

I mean you all act like Stanford has been picking us apart here for years. It doesn't happen that often but Stanford academically is on par with Ivy League.
