This would round out a stud OL recruit class. Question is which one of these commits other than Linder is a potential interior Lineman?

Tackle - Flowers, Gadbois, Odugwu, McDermott, Darling, Gibbons?
C - Knighton, Linder
Guard - Gall, Isidora, Briscoe, Wells

You would hope that one of Darling or Gibbons would be able to slide inside?

SOOOOOOO not worried about which one will play guard. These kids will work it out. The two best tackles will play tackle, and the other two will play guard forming the best OL in the country in 3 years. Sony better be getting wet in the pants thinking about this. Is this happens tomorrow, and Sony commits in April 23 or 24 or whatever that date is you can absolutely take this recruiting class to the bank as the GOAT.

Al Golden will NOT leave the U for ANY other collegiate coaching job if this recruiting class turns out as I/we anticipate. It has national championship caliber written all over it. God damnit I am so pumped.

Penn State can never get this type of class if it goes how we want and this is home for him now, he feels comfy and happy with his family

Premium position. Loaded. Can't ask for anything more.

Somewhere, HawaiiCane is throwing a ******* party for our OL.

I think Darling is a guard as well. He reaches a lot out at tackle. Not saying he isn't a great prospect. I think he has huge upside at guard.

Agreed. And, he's a better Guard prospect than Denver Kirkland.

Eh, I was with you on Kirkland, but I really like Darling's feet. I never really thought that Kirkland had the feet OR technique for tackle. I think with a few years, which he will almost certainly have behind the talent we have recruited along the offensive line, I think Darling could be an all-conference performer at RT and a future NFLer

Except you need a defense too.

darling 6'4 and a monster on run blocks, him being a natural tackle with good pass protection is only a plus

Anyone not named Flowers or McDermott better get comfortable at guard.

Darling is the guard, Gibbons is too small

Lulz.

6-6 280 as a HS junior isnt too small.

Gibbons was measured at exactly 6´4 at the UA combine. 274lbs. Ran a 4.65. Faster than Alin Edouard, Ryshene Bronson, Tyree Brady and Keyon Brown.

That's some funny **** right there! I'm not sure I can ever recall an OL running in the 4.6's. That's pretty f'ing crazy.

for real, talk about a guy that could get to the next level blocking as a pulling guard if that is where he ends up.

We will have the best OL class in the nation, if he picks the Canes. Sony and Yearby should have big smiles on their faces. If Sony can't see what is happening in Coral Gables, God bless him.

KC committed the last time he was on campus and i think Gibbons did too so if he was ever coming to UM then he's a lock, if he was always UGA then none of this affects him

That 40 time isnt accurate. A 4.65 40 and a 5.08 shuttle doesnt go together. That time had to be hand timed and not a laser time. I still like this kid regardless of his 40 time.

correct - this kid is not a 4.65 kid. That said, he does appear to be a very good athlete.

c'mon if you guys believe a hs kid who is 6'4 275 running a 4.65.

Gibbons is a prototypical Tackle, I highly, highly doubt they'll be moving him to guard. I mean, just look at his frame. Wide shoulders, tall and lean. That's a tackle frame, not a guard. Add in the fact that he has light feet and used to play TE, I just don't see how anybody sees him being a guard, but ****, I'm no coach.

FWIW, I like Gibbons more than Darling, and would be ecstatic if we got him to go along with Darling and McDermott.
Note: I liked this post but am not signing up for the Gibbons > Darling comment. I think Darling looks like he has a great upside. He committed early and people are someone taking him for granted at this point. I like both these kids as prospects.

I'm not trying to diss Darling at all, I think he's a very good player that I'm glad we got, because you can never have too many offensive lineman. I'm just of the opinion that Gibbons is more of a late bloomer and has a ton of potential.

you would say the same thing about darling if he was still waiting to make a decision, we kill dudes and say how another player is better until they commit

who cares if one is better than the other if there both commit and are on the team that makes us better competition will make us a better team in the long run

Laughed out loud when I thought back about our former offensive line recruiting. I still remember Tyler McMeans and posts about "Canadian sleepers" over at Scout. Wow we've come a long way.

Like everyone, I'm hoping Gibbons picks us. T'would be great to grab another elite offensive lineman.

Remember when people thought Kehoe couldn't recruit? Lawl

I admit to being one of them. But it was also bad evals. Both really.

AG deserves a LOT of the credit here, IMO. But Art can get his kudos also.
