Realistic Options

I also think Aranda would be a homerun if he went out and got a Ruggiero or Lebee. I wouldn’t want him with the offense he’s got at Baylor. Of course it might just be that QB he’s got. Kid can’t throw.
Jeff Grimes is a well regarded offensive coordinator.

Baylor offense is also rank 20th in total offense and 19th in scoring offense. Yes their QB isn’t great yet they still put up points.

Since we won’t hire any coach being mentioned. I’ll go with Lance Leipold.

I would make Kiffin tell me “no” (which I assume he would). Then, I’d try to use emotion of alma mater to sway Mario. If he says “no”, I don’t know who to go after.

1.)Mario-Recruiting Recruiting Recruiting. That's his strength. He is beloved in South Florida, so all those paper chasing ho** high school coaches better send those studs to Miami if he is coach.

2.)Lane. He is a great guy for Miami. He would bring instant attention, bring offense, and could recruit pretty well.

3.)Freeze-Proven winner in big time college football, not as good of a fit as above 2 but really good coach.

Then you get to the Mark Stoops, Tom Herman, Mike Leech, and Dave Aranda names.

I know, I wasn’t saying that Miami was a great job, in fact I’ve been saying for a while now that’s it’s basically on par with most G5 programs.
U think so? They get talent to Miami still. We’ve had 3 coaches in a row who were one piece away from being relevant… I still think it’s the decision makers who’ve been the problem. Make better decisions and Miami can be Miami again.

Lane, Stoops, Freeze are three legit coaches we can get. We can get Mario but he’s a tier below the guys above.

It’s not the recruiting base that makes this job good but more of the fact we play in a basketball conference. You can make it to the playoffs with relative ease if you know how to run a program.

Everybody has failed at texas bro. They just lost to **** Kansas today. They went 7-3 last year with Herman and are 4-6 now with sark. Let this sink in herman had the 2nd highest win percentage behind only Mack brown at texas since the 70s. The guy has won 71% of his games
Everyone has failed here too! Matter fact, more coaches have failed here than there lol. If you cannot win there you cannot win here, simple as that. It’s easier to win there honestly. It’s easier because they have the most money in CFB, the easiest recruiting grounds. Kids are bread to be Texas fans in that state and down here there ain’t no loyalty. Last 5 years they have been going elsewhere cause Herman could not win or recruit. I don’t care if their team with their current bum coach lost to sisters of the blind today, that does not make him a good coach for going 7-3 there! We not trying to only win 71 percent of our games here!

You obviously shoot for the moon for as the saying goes even if you miss you'll still land among the stars. However, I think we land on fkin pluto.

We miss on Mario, Lane, Urban, Fickell, and any one else y'all consider a potentially elite level coach.

My take on the type of coach we end up with (in no particular order):
Billy Napier
Bill Clark
Tom Herman
Jeff Traylor
Mark Stoops

Cristobal is actually a very real and likely choice. People are discounting how much his wife and family want to be back in Miami. This has also always been his dream job. He’s interviewed for the job twice, and was ready to interview in 2018 before Blake ruined the program for another few years. He’s one of the top recruiters in the country and would be in a recruiting hotbed too.

Are things good for him at Oregon? Yes. Does he have things rolling over there? Yes. Do he and his family want to stay there for the next five years? Absolutely not. With Blake gone and admin support he’ll come back here. There’s never been a better time for him to get the job than now. He’s in the drivers seat and knows it. If you see Blake get canned and Alonzo come into a role in the coming weeks, that’s a huge indication that he’s on the path to coming here.

Because he understands football unlike the people choosing before.
I don’t really care about who gets the AD job, but I’m just sayin this logic is what was used to make the case for Lynn Swann at SC, Trev Alberts at Nebraska, etc and it seems like these moves almost never work.
