Realistic Options

And both will be looking for new coaches after the season too. They aren’t better than UGA and Bama. And even with Lane, they aren’t better.
Why on earth would Georgia or Alabama be looking for new coaches? What is Miami? How is Miami even better of a job than Florida or LSU? You don’t think Florida or LSU have access to great talent? Do they have better facilities? Better gameday experience? More money?

Want to win? Put Herman in.

Mario and Lane are both interested

Fickell has zero interest in this job

Herman will not get a look

I have no idea on Leach
What’s the hold up?

Mario or Lane would be huge and we’re here ****ing around

Just got back to my room from Doak and had some time to think during the drive. Who are some realistic replacements?

Mario ain’t leaving a likely playoff team.
Kiffin ain’t leaving the SEC.
Fickell probably going to the Big Ten.
Miami won’t touch Leach.

Who is a realistic option? Unless we find a hidden gem, this program appears to be headed for several more years of purgatory. I’m not hopeful at all.
No matter what other posters say...Being Realistic is appreciated by some of us!!! And the Top 2 names are a crackpipe dream. With one who hasn't won at any of his stops.

He's buried Darnold that's for sure.

Started out well for the first three games, but got obliterated behind that OLine - dude has a fractured scapula now. Did Brady adjust? Did he *******s.
Joe Brady offense looked pretty good when he had just an average QB in Teddy Bridgewater, he turned Joe Burrow from an UDFA to the #1 overall pick. Joe Brady has the potential to be the next Lincoln Riley..

Buddy, you're not following the conversation.

The original conversation (from post #7 that you replied to) is about Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss for another job in the SEC OR Lane going to Miami. What would Lane prefer? The other poster claims that Lane would rather go to Miami because he would have a clearer path to the NC and playoff with Miami than he would at another SEC team that will be looking for a head coach.

Of the SEC teams that will be looking for a head coach after this season (namely, UF and LSU), with Lane, those two schools still won't be able to beat UGA or Alabama in order to win the SEC and make the playoff. So, let's say Lane goes to UF. UF isn't winning the SEC East. And they may even be a 3rd place team in the SEC East. Or, let's say Lane goes to LSU. Is LSU beating Alabama for the West? I don't think so.

But, if Kiffin goes to Miami, his path to a NC and playoff will be clearer and easier than it would be if he coached at UF or LSU because UF and LSU (even with Kiffin) still won't be better than UGA and Bama....and maybe other teams like A&M and eventually when OU joins the SEC.

No one said "Georgia or Alabama" will be "looking for new coaches". You're not following the conversation.

You don’t think another SEC team won’t make a run at him?
He could go to UiF easily I think.
I think Mullins will get another year.I think that’s what him firing Grantham and Hevesy was all about…Guaranteeing him another year.

I’m hearing and have been from jump street that LSU is looking at Bill O’Brien.

Other than those two teams I don’t see an option that would be better than Miami cause anywhere else he’s playing for third place at best. The same thing he’s doing now.

Ok, Pal.

LSU won a NC a few years ago and the SEC usually gets two playoff slots. Saban was the Alabama coach; Smart was Georgia’s coach. Your argument is defeatist.

A team’s margin for error is greater in the SEC. Saban has only ever has two undefeated seasons. It’s arguably easier to get in.

Plus don’t you want to win when you get in? The SEC attracts more talent than any other conference.

Take off your rose colored glasses. Miami is not a great job in 2021.
