It was exciting to see the crowd that night...I was there and it was as close to the OB as I've seen there...that defense was pretty **** good. If we had the offense we have shown over the last four games with that D, we would have won out and been in the playoffs that year. If I recall correctly, after ND had we won out and still lost to Clemson there was a decent chance we would have still made it.

That pitt loss really hurt. I think had they won that one and gone into the ACC championship game with way more on the line they would have performed slightly better...a close loss against clemson and otherwise being undefeated probably would have gotten them in IMO

That game I was in Indianapolis. Company dinner just prior to start. After dinner, I had a drink at the bar to watch the game for a bit before going to a big function. Once it started , I could not leave. Just too much fun roasting those domer homers at Ruth Chris that night. God I loved it. I was the only Cane in that place….it was FUN

It was one of the most intense home field advantages I've ever witnessed -- and I've been everywhere and to every big Miami game over 40 years. I was in the first row and it's the first time since the Washington game in the OB where the players on the other side looked intimidated before the game started. I think all those players grew up thinking no one goes to Miami games and the shock of the crowd shook them to their bones. That stadium is about as loud as it gets on a night like that.

Not only that, Pickett was a freshman that game and Mandy allowed him to kill us.

First game at Hard Rock, place was ******* electric. GameDay had some clever signs too.

The look in Brian Kelly's eyes during the pre-game interview with Tom Rinaldi said it all. Brian knew that his team wasn't prepared for the atmosphere.
The Notre Dame fans in front of us were genuinely terrified from just how loud it was. Awesome night!

I see your 2017 UM vs ND game...and raise you 1989s UM vs ND game....Never in over 40yrs of going to UM games have I heard such noise...not just the game...but before and after....Loudest game in OB History...Dolphins or Canes....

I've been to every home games at the OB since 1979. It was one of the loudest games ever. That roof does not allow the noise to escape. OB will always be home for me but I was blown away that night. And the VT game the week before was also crazy loud. Kirk Herbstreit said it was the loudest game he's ever been to.

Yes that game will always be up there with any place in the country. Also the Dolphins Bears 85 game was the loudest Dolphin game I've ever seen there.

Same thing they are saying about Narduzzi right now in regards to TVD.
We all busted on Pickett, including me, for the past 4 years, but it turns out he is a really good QB and will be playing on Sundays. I’m not saying we should have lost that game but he wasn’t some scrub beating us, even as a freshman, just like TVD isn’t a scrub.

We were so banged up going into that Clemson game….oh well. Think it could have been different had we been healthier
Exactly, we were talented but not deep enough to overcome the injuries that had piled up by that point. Walton, Richards, Herndon, maybe others I’m forgetting. Think Rosier also may have had a hurt shoulder by then.

Only thing I really remember from that Pitt game is Rosier admitting after the game they really didn’t care going in
