RBs tipping playcall

Got a tip passed onto me from an analyst at GT - went back and watched a few drives in the condensed game to see for myself and it is pretty clear

Henry Parrish tips the playcall (run or pass) by his alignment almost every snap. If he's aligned with TVD it's a pass. Every time he's deep behind it is a run. Every pistol alignment I saw was a run. There are a few instances where he's somewhere in the middle like a half step behind and almost every time that was the case you could tell GT had to read the play and we hit a good pass play or he was a more effective runner - including the big pass to Restrepo, big pass to Young, Parrish's 18 yard TD run that got called back.

Chaney doesn't tip as much with his alignment. He's almost always a half step behind TVD. He did get deep a few times and it was a run and he did move up a time or 2 but it was clear passing downs anyway. Makes you wonder if that is why he was so much more effective running compared to Parrish on Saturday.
I had a college coaching friend text me "Miami tips every inside zone run via alignment" as well during the GT game

Bruh their d is cheeks. The qb is legit I just think up front we should be able to win with our OL. Keep them off the field and make sure you get to DM. And can we get a few holding calls for our DL? They will hold LT and Hold Bain or tackle them. At least call it once so they stop doing it.
their closest game was the App State and have blown out everyone else they've played on a tougher schedule than us (yes our schedule sucks so far). we dont get any pressure on the QB through 5 games without sending help and still missing our best edge rusher. youre underestimating how good they are this year. they wont blow us out and we wont do that to them either but theyre a good team (the best we've seen so far and our first real road game as our schedule has been as favorable as you can get with every game but 1 at home and a bye week). huge step up in play from temple, g tech, Bethune and theyre better than ATM.

If that TVD shows up from last week we would be in trouble in any game. I would love to see RayRay in more for George when JG is struggling with physical DB's. You cant have WRs getting bullied at the LOS. I dont think they are better than TAMU but they have a better QB for sure as of right now and hes the difference. But you probably are correct that I am sleeping on them, I just feel like what they have done to us has to end eventually.

eh atm has more talent but UNC is def better.

Unc is 5--0 so yea they are playing better. i just have a different outlook for this team cause what came in. I dont think they fold like the past.
I dont think they fold either. I have it as a one score-10 point game at worst either way (whether we win or they win). I dont see us getting blown out unless tvd and the O looks like trash then it's a wrap.

I was watching a different game last Saturday, and the announcers mentioned the same tip off by the RB...... **** wish I remembered which game

Yea if TVD is the last year TVD or last week we in trouble

agreed.

on tvd, I think hes okay. hes got great moments and hes got not so good. comes out to being an above average college QB. my issue with him is him reading the D and staring down his receivers. I alos accept that hes playing with probably average skill talent. him w say the incoming WRs when they mature, he starts to become a great college QB. so far, I think tvd lucked out a bit with the soft schedule. hopefully, we go ATM TVD where he put up his best performance ever.

I feel like he’s late and his arm strength is a bit overrated. And his eyes he doesn’t look off dudes at all and bruh I wish he would audible and give hard counts so no one times the same sh all the time.

All we had to do was pull it and throw the slant or a the Charleston Rambo stop route/backshoulder on the RPO a couple times and it would have changed. We did it to X and to Young and that was it.

I agree. Don't think it had anything to do with seeing it or not knowing.. it was trying to be "fizucal bro" and "impose our will" bro

Same with the last play. They knew they could kneel it. They knew Chaney had 100 yards. It was ego stroking and it was trying to score again because 27-17 looks better than 20-17
@JayCane20 ....not ONE misdirection, not ONE end around, nothing....we HAVE to be more innovative moving foward...

Yep.

Watched some of the condensed A&M and Temple games. Didn’t look like a huge deal vs A&M - they rotated backs a lot more and used different formations where it wasn’t as prevalent. When Parrish was deep we did show we’d pull it from the mesh and hit a quick screen (TVD to Restrepo side armed), a slant, etc. Had an effective RPO game with it. Also, the goal line play to Young in the flat was a result of pulling it with this alignment.

We’ve also done the orbit motion around the pistol many times and then run inside zone out of it. Showed it to A&M twice and then took advantage of it on George’s TD where he cut it off and we hit him in the flat and he beat them to the pylon.

We hit some RPOs pulling it at the mesh point against Temple.

Looks like the issue really started against GT and it was an in-game thing. My guess is they found out if they sat in a certain defense, the numbers told TVD to hand it and he did every time and they dictated our RPO and essentially knew what was coming. Might be what the guy was alluding to when I told him. Timing for the RPO to give the QB time to hold mesh and read his queue to give or pull.

Have to adapt this week and pull it a few times going off-script of a traditional RPO. Or change the read-man we’re making decisions off of. Or scrap the RPO game almost entirely

Since they now know he’s tipping plays maybe they can use it to their advantage …..

So two years in a row we have tipped plays or stolen sign issues…

Blame lies with:
- Barry Jackson
- ACC
- The officiating crew
- Adidas
- Fans
- Deion

I almost forgot:
