Rational UNC Thoughts

- We have tough players but we're not a tough team.

- Our defense looks unaggressive and very undisciplined.

- The OL and QB played better, but there were critical drops and fumbles.

- The specials remain an adventure.

- The players look like they're thinking too much instead of playing football.

The above are not characteristic of Miami football teams.

Looking at this rationally we've been outcoached and outplayed again.

Do I still have faith in the future....of course...its part of being a fan

Am I concerned? **** YES!!....what rational Cane fan wouldn't be?

Need to fix special teams NOW.

We have a QB. If our oline develops we are going to be a nightmare on offense.

Defense needs to take Remedial Tackling 101. I saw a LOT of bad tackling this game.

Actually, Enos isn't the problem. For a RS FR QB, a sub-par OL (to say the least), and an overrated skill position players (Hightower, Pope, Mallory, and Harley), Enos isn't bad.
All true but he's NOT that good either which is the problem. We gave him $1M a year and this is what we got. Could have got an uptempo spread guy or someone to run the oklahoma offense. We got this pro-style RPO offense with jet sweeps

How do you know how much he makes?

But with Sam Howell there and a good coaching staff we might not beat them for the next two years either. Howell kid is going to get better and so far this early he looks like a kid who will wind up drafted.

ST n defense cost us this one.
our dline is not that good.
our defense isnt that good.
howell is good. their coordinators are good.
ours? not so far.

-TNM is not instant Playoff or ACC Contender

- Enos has a lot to prove as an OC/ playcaller

- We showed fight after horrible start, improvement from last year

- OLine is too young/ needs to be assisted more

- punting is okay, kicking is not

- I still think manny is long term coach, wishful thinking to think everything fixed in 1 off season
3 punts 45 for an average and pinned them inside the 10 on one punt. I mean I think that’s more than ok.

BREAKING NEWS

1) Mack is what we hoped CMR would be

UNC came out ready and prepared. I always clowned Mack for basically having the easiest route to a NC at Texas (where he could literally sign #1 classes year after year if he put effort into properly evaluating recruits) and still managing to lose a game or two. He wasnt that same coach tonight. That team is good! And they play to their strengths. Both Co-ordinations look like great hires.

2) Nepotism seems to always kill us

If it isnt Al Golden keeping his bff around through the worst defenses ever at Miami, or CMR refusing to hire a qualified QB coach, its Manny attempting to turn his friends (who have little to no experience) into a competent defensive staff. Blake called a horrible game tonight. He looked scared. 4 and 17 and you call a zone blitz? Especially when weve been getting pressure with our front 4? I'll never understand. And it's the way we looked out there. That wasnt a Miami D. Its seemed like we just gave up in coverage at times. There was no edge! I'm a firm believer that any successful working partnership needs a little conflict from time to time. Now, who on that staff will ever challenge each other or Manny. Sheiittt they all owe him for giving them an opportunity they weren't ready for!

3) Enos is on notice

Tonight, I saw an OC that would rather call plays he was comfortable with than putting his players in comfortable positions. If UF was on Jarren, UNC was on Enos. We'll see if he the type to always point fingers or the guy who accepts where he was wrong. Those slow developing PAs need to be thrown away. Jarren seems to have a hard time processing what hes seeing in those slow developing plays. He excels at short to intermediate throws where his reads and simple and he can be accurate. Hes proven this over two games. Stop calling plays like your still at Arkansas!

Tough loss man! Especially cause if we stuck to what was working, Cam'ron and Deejay would of had a day!!

We need a better Oline and better recruiting on the defensive side.

I don't understand how outside our Dline it seems that we are incredibly think everywhere else on the D when we 1) have been so good on that side of the ball recently and 2) have a coach a dedicated coach at LB, CB, and S - the depth here is inexcusable considering the level of the D and the continuity of the coaching staff.

Oline is in a bad situation and I don't know if that is developmental or lack of talent.

My only hope is that we continue to get better as the year goes on

Enos made great adjustments. Williams balled out! Baker and The Car Wash coach let us down.
