Yeah can’t speak too much on Richt because of his health. Being a degenerative disease not sure how long that was happening, how it effected some of those last moments he was a coach etc

Basically any good memory we had for a while was from 2017. We had a **** of a team with Malik Rosier at QB. He was just a **** good coach. Broke my heart the way we squandered all he gave us

But I digress…

It all felt like he was trying to clean up our image. We didn’t need that plus it didn’t work

So it all came across as goofy

If he took the names off the jerseys and we won a Natty then he’s a genius motivator right?

Good point. Another reason Richt doesn't belong on that list of terrible hires.

Mario was giving the same vibes at first. Talking tough about discipline and whatnot meanwhile we are constantly doing dumb ****, committing undisciplined penalties etc

Just comes across hypocritical

Yea I think Mario looks at it differently, he just not all about the slogans and stuff, just about 25/8 work and if it doesnt work, work some more.. grind, grind , grind to a pulp.. fist pump and grind some more, play fast, hit hard and overcome mistakes by hitting harder and redlining faster..

I have mentioned from beginning from his pov that doesnt necessarily mean ultra discipline, going back to Oregon they always been penalized, I think he doesnt care about it because he wants guys redlining in everything and mistakes will be a part of that so he doesnt care..

Just sucks he comes against the coach with most discipline team and "we dont grind our guys down, we come in do whats needed and I get them out of facilities to their families" and my guys will still block your punt on no rush.. and capitalize on all your mistakes while we leave ours to minimum, FML..

Radio….everytime we make that reference to RS I just crack up. He and Uncle Fester took us to highs but mostly…lows.

After we lost to IU I really had some “that might be our ceiling” moments not gonna lie

Then we went out and bought an absurd team to go along with the recruiting/evals. I realize without Mario there’s no NIL support to this level but I’m just happy we are rich, that’s all I’ll say

Yea you probably right. I just feel like if you are targeting one of the best players on the team to lift them up later, then that’s tough love. But to work like that in the shadows is real weird, and to keep the power over the player because people spoke about him?

Imagine him having Toney? He may make him the water boy if the rules were old school and we won’t know who he is. I always felt like RS was a good but that’s how I saw him. I wouldn’t send my kids to play for him, to say that loss did more for us than anyone knows…..was cope. Urban did not care and bodied that guy

He’s basically Pitts Coach now, same persona. Just not HC material to be top tier

He could close in recruiting if he found the exact type he vibed with, but that group was way too small

Mario has a type too but he is out there kicking stones over in Montana to see if there’s someone 6-8 340

I dunno. Maybe I’m full of **** that’s just the vibe I got from him

Yea I completely understand, you get THAT close just for it to end like that, nothing is guaranteed and we know that too well having to go 20+ years after getting robbed of fiesta bowl..

But looking at it on positive, we have momentum, the roster will get better and we actually have something to recruit to and a mad man who will do it (the benefit of the grind/work,work,work mindset) AND the donors actually have something to feel good about burning money on recruits. Looking at ND recruiting off championship loss, their lag class this season looks really good, especially in trenches, I would think it lines up perfect for us with that '28 class also.

Yup this is dead *** possible as well. I just dont like people who back stab like that.....I get people make mistakes but when you keep them down thats an ugly look man. And I love Hester as a player, I dont think he lying cause he has no reason to

This is where I vehemently disagree. We were coming off the FIU brawl, pata’s murder and the meriweather/cooper shooting when Randy got hired, then Sean Taylor got killed in his own home within a year. The external perception of Miami was negative and led to guys like Major wright not even considering the canes and saying they needed to escape south Florida.

Randy wasn’t a good head coach, and outside of the 2008 class he was not a great recruiter, but that dude getting our APR at the same level as Duke, Stanford and military academies is a huge win in my book. I get that he fell short on wins and losses but he was a good dude. And he was the first person to tell players to avoid Nevin.

Sorry for being overly emotional but I’ll always defend Randy.
