Randy Shannon was an idiot.

love Hester — but he was not a great corner his junior year and we had a loaded secondary. There are plenty of reasons to be disappointed in Randy, but having Hester focused on returns is not one of them.
Could that outcome have been different if let’s say Randy wasn’t being a **** and Hester got coached up?

Of course hindsight is 20/20 but we’ve had plenty of examples here even recently of what it looks like when a coach is being stubborn and misuses his talent.

I don’t think so. If he had stayed at UM his senior year, Coker’s plan was to put him at running back fwiw.

Crazy to think we did this twice with Randy and Manny.
Manny was like a completely incompetent hybrid of past coaching decisions

Randy was cheap and lazy failed DC regime. Then we went to Temple and found another moron.

Then we decided to really go all in and poach a guy (translate: pay a stupid amount of money) we already had from a past regime from Temple

The day we hired Manny, in that context, a piece of me died

Miamis offense was trash and predictable Hesters last season. if Coker had a brain he would’ve realized Hester was the missing spark needed going into that season and figured out a way to get him on the fb field beyond special teams. It was too late to wait until the bowl game with an underdeveloped football team against lsu to try to get creative the last game of the season.

Mario is rebuilding it all. And as much as it pains me to say this…the only way we become a dynasty again is through the fire like we’re doing.

Our team is literally 1 of 1 when it comes to sports. Theres nothing like it and people hate what they can never be.

I know for a fact that pro players are envious of the brotherhood the U has.

🧢cap he was the only playmaker in the secondary going into his junior year. He had 4 ints his sophomore and didn’t start. The problem wasn’t Hester he could’ve been an all conference corner if he didn’t have a pos hating *** coach like Randy fixated on trying to sabotage his CFB career.

Yet Coker was fine putting him in special packages at tailback? Was that better for his ego? The NFL recognized Hester was not cutout for CB, despite a stellar Freshman year.

I think we all know his strength was at returner and his place on O or D was eclipsed by his returner talent

Coker, Shannon, Golden, Manny was just an awful run of head coach picks. I leave Richt out because I really liked the guy - the game had just passed him by.

It's like the university was purposely trying to suck at football.

Mario plus the people writing the checks

It’s a good time to be us. Finally.

And that right there in turn, is the saddest part! Thank God, we got a true administration Now that knows the value of a top football program. Thank god!
