Randy Shannon pre me interview

Miami was still getting top recruits in those early 2000 years. Randy had incredible players but his defenses are too basic. I don’t see how he was promoted after 40-3

When you have top talent you should be basic.

That's the first job of a coach.

Identify what you've got and implement your plan accordingly.

A 4-3, one gap defense with 2-deep, man under behind it was the best defense for us.

It was fine for the time but complex offenses challenged us. With spread offenses anywhere can’t see Randy fielding a top defense. That Florida defense is filled with talent and they’re 39th in total defense and goin to be worse after today

Man stfu. Shannon sucked here so what. No need to make up chit and he'll more of a cane then you ever will be. BTW, as bad as Shannon was your boy golden was far worse.

Randy was a better coach, but he left the program in infinitely worse shape than Golden did. They were both terrible.

Please. Shannon left plenty of talent behind for golden to win way more than he did.

And Golden left Richt a team that's in the National Championship picture in year two. Golden had to recruit an entire class in a month after Randy got canned.

So what? That's cfb guy. You think golden is the first coach to come in and have to do that? Got dam do you pay attention to cfb at all?

I’m not defending golden but there’s no excuse to have three commits in December.

So you're projecting?

You can't see him fielding good defenses going forward?

What does that have to do with his track record? And the fact that he implemented a system that was best for the personnel that he had?

Shut up stupid I was agreeing with you.

You're terrible at articulating that.

Naw you just made a dumb assumption and lack the ability to interpret a simple response. A guy post a dumb comment and you come back with the correct info to shut his dumb comment down. That's why I laughed. You need to learn from this. I'm not gonna explain myself every time b.

Yep!

Are you serious? Find me another head coach that left literally under 5 signees to the next guy. The dude left Golden a dumpster fire.

Again, you need to be better than "guy who posts lmao" as a response.

When?

What evidence do you have for this?

I’m not going to go back 15 years and dig up evidence of incompetence against teams with running Quarterbacks/uptempo offenses but three games come to mind
2004 Louisville 38- Miami 41
2003 VT 31- Miami 7
2005 LSU 40- Miami 3

Randy also ran through 3 defensive coordinators in 4 years, the lack of continuity was brutal. Especially when you figure a guy who was a career DC should have been able to find the right guy for that job.

2016 UF total defense: 5th
2017 UF total defense: 39th (and falling)
Randy is not elite. He did good things with greats players and that’s respectable

Again, it happens. Guy was on the brink of getting fired and recruits were Leary. Not the first time in cfb history that's happened. I mean, he could have had 10 guys committed but if they all sucked who gives a dam. Coaches take over programs in December, January and the guys committed don't do chit for the team but they bring in instant impact guys that add to what's already on the team and win.

Good example is Sabin. 15 of the 24 guys that signed committed to Saban. Of the 9 already committed I think 1 did anything worth talking about or something close to that.

Class that Coker left for Shannon in 2007 inclued:

Allen Bailey
Harland Gunn
DeMarcus VanDyke
Craig Cooper
Damien Berry
Orlando Franklin
Leonard Hankerson
Tyler Horn

Class that Randy Shannon left Al Golden:

Phillip Dorsett
Anthony Chickillo
Jeremy Davis (Golden dumped him)
Nick Menocal (Golden dumped him as well)

Class that Golden left Richt:

Smh. Here's another example of a guy making a big deal out of a dumb situation. I don't give a he'll if Shannon left golden 20 recruits. Still wouldn't change the fact that he's a ****** coach.

When Saban decided to go to bama he inherited 9 guys. Guys like Alfred McCullough, Chris lett, jamar Taylor etc. Who the **** are those guys? They suck. You think that's a good thing he inherited those sorry *** dudes? The fact that Shannon left golden 3 guys or whatever it was is meaningless.

Jesus ******* christ you're stupid. You're somehow gaslighting yourself into thinking this isn't categorically retarded.

Meaningless. Look at the entire roster Shannon left. Shannon left golden plenty of talent. Just because he only had 4 verbal commits doesn't mean he left golden a shifty football program.

Shannon still doesn’t know wtf he’s doing as a head coach, too bad the Gators had to find out the hard way lmao
