Randy Shannon pre me interview

Did some of you get amnesia forgetting that Blandy left UM with 3 recruits when he knew he was about to be **** canned and decided to take a job at Ufag so he could recruit against his alma mater?

For all the sh:t Fat Al gets, which is deserved, at least he didn't quit doing his job and stopped recruiting when he knew he was going to get the ax. He worked until the end leaving us in a much better position to rebound from his horrible coaching regime and it wasn't even his alma mater.

*** blandy Shannon he lost his Cane card long ago!

Man stfu. Shannon sucked here so what. No need to make up chit and he'll more of a cane then you ever will be. BTW, as bad as Shannon was your boy golden was far worse.

Randy was a better coach, but he left the program in infinitely worse shape than Golden did. They were both terrible.

Some things a HC does can be learned.

But being able to pick a QB is something that should natural.

Randy has screwed it up in his two tenures as head coach.

He picked Kirby Freeman over Kyle Wright even though it was obvious that Wright was better. He stuck with a rotation of Robert Marve and Jacory Harris too long even though it was clear that Harris was better.

And now he's doing it with Florida.

Started Zaire to "shake it up" apparently even though Franks is obviously better.

We all wanted to see Randy succeed even more since he was from Miami and started playing as a little kid from pop Warner games to playing and coaching at UM.

What has Shannon ever done? Got credit from Butch's kids. Before Randy took over for defensive coordinator he had three future NFL head coaches coaching defense before him. Notice when all of those guys left the team started to go into a free fall. If Shannon was actually any good he would have continued on with success at the U. He has done nothing great on his own. He only had one good recruiting year were none of the recruits went off to do anything.

This is so untrue that you should be embarrassed.

Randy's defenses at Miami ranked by total defense.

2001: 6th
2002: 7th
2003: 2nd
2004: 28th
2005: 4th
2006: 7th

So when Butch's recruits were long gone Randy was still coordinating top defenses.

Please. Shannon left plenty of talent behind for golden to win way more than he did.

Travis Benjamin has had a solid NFL career, Arthur Brown had a serviceable NFL career too. Sean Spence would have a been a terrific linebacker had his knee not exploded, but still grinding it out in the league.

Streeter leaving a year too early was sad, he had the goods.

Marcus Forston turned into a baller cop too.

And Golden left Richt a team that's in the National Championship picture in year two. Golden had to recruit an entire class in a month after Randy got canned.

Miami was still getting top recruits in those early 2000 years. Randy had incredible players but his defenses are too basic. I don’t see how he was promoted after 40-3

Lmao. Post like this make me laugh. Sure Shannon sucked as a hc but some guys like the cat above me thinks they can say anything about the guy hoping it makes them look smart when in fact it's the opposite.

When you have top talent you should be basic.

That's the first job of a coach.

Identify what you've got and implement your plan accordingly.

A 4-3, one gap defense with 2-deep, man under behind it was the best defense for us.

Please explain how I made anything up? And did I just offend your family member, why are you angry?

So if he is such very a great Coordinator then why was this his first DC gig since Miami?

I can appreciate both perspectives here.

Support Shannon because, at the end of the day, he's a 'Cane. He was a player, had some great defenses at Miami as a DC.

But also, **** Shannon because he set our program back a number of years. He embarrassed us on the field with the product and off the field with his interactions with the press. After failing as our head coach, after stealing a head coach's salary, he proceeded to sue the university. Crying Onion. Now he recruits against us at an instate rival.

I'm all about supporting the fam, but it's so tough for me to do here.

So what? That's cfb guy. You think golden is the first coach to come in and have to do that? Got dam do you pay attention to cfb at all?

I have no idea but it doesn't have anything to do with what I posted.

He coordinate good defenses during his entire tenure.

Whether someone hires him later is irrelevant to that.
