Cole got a few pressures. When Baron got the Sack and bench pressed the OL into their QB... Cole was doing the same thing on the other side. I also recall him getting a big pressure that turned into an INT for Pruitt. Not too bad for his first college snaps.

Go Canes!

Not a disappointment but he played a lot over other guys who were just as capable or in the game just looked better imo
Because he EARNED that pt over weeks & weeks in the summer. All the young DL are capable & will end up having a role here. It's so CIS hearing people complain based on a few reps in a blowout.

Too many penalties after a fairly clean game last week

Mario’s talk about discipline has never actually materialized on the field yet

Last week I thought we were headed in the right direction

I’ll chalk it up to a bunch of people not used to playing but I didn’t like it
Agreed on penalties. But they were all committed by non starters. I think Mario runs all the starters out for first half of next game. Let’s see how disciplined they are.

Oh good lord, this is the new Mopery thread. We can't mope about losing, so let's mope about "complacency" and "third stringers not looking like our first stringers".

This is why we have a couple of early season games, the coaches can let the backups play and make some mistakes. Either the players will have some pride and fix their mistakes or they will eventually transfer elsewhere. I'm fine with either one, we have 105 scholarships to award.

Nobody is saying that mistakes are acceptable, but just that if the players learn and improve from their mistakes, then the purpose has been served.

Just as there was improvement from the first half to the second half of the FAMU game, let's also see how things go against Balls State.

But it's great to see that the Mopers haven't disappeared, they are just complaining about much more trivial stuff. We can take that as a sign of improvement, I guess.

I just cant take anyone seriously complaining about anything today beyond the 2nd and 3rd teamers in the 2nd quarter as that was a bit off. The run game was **** good . This is a game any Miami team of the last 15 years would of won 38-13 . We won by almost 50. Yall seriously have issues if you complaining about anything today beyond Brown at WR and the back ups in the 2nd quarter. those were 2 issues. Miami clearly is a top 5 team along with the likes of UGA , OSU , Texas ... The people who *****ing about the run game though I can't even respond to its so silly. I mean you have to be hittin the fenny foil if you look at these stats and see anything other then the top backfield in college . We have a 4th stringer who would start for 99.9% of teams in Allen. 8.3 , 8.4 6.7 and 5.0 is what our top 4 averaged when they touched the ball.
respectfully, watch the first few norfolk drives and tell me if the running game was **** good

that being said i agree with alot of what you said otherwise

Re: Pancake, I was quoting our guys with the 1st overall pick stuff. He will be a good player but it's hard to assess teenagers when they don't play top talent. Francis Mauigoa was a much easier eval for the staff.
DMoney go ahead and completely write off Cole too. It's blatantly obvious he is trash. He played his 1st game as a true freshman today against a bad team and didn't record 5 sacks. Can you ask Canes Connection to pull his NIL as well?

Holy **** CiS living up to its hype. A lot of poRsters showing their asses already.

Yeah we were just a bit out of sorts but that’s what happens when you’re rotating in so many guys

I agree with the people saying you can’t take anything away from games like this. We will have a solid test in two weeks it appears, but when our 1s are all out there I think we have a chance to beat anyone with the weapons we have

They need to learn how to lock in and get dialed in for every game, not take weeks off. All week long they were saying things like "every game is a championship game" but that's obviously not true. They need to make it true.

It's a long season and we should be favored to win every game. The only way we don't do that is if some team upsets us, and the only way that happens is if we come in one week not dialed in and not focused.

Our biggest opponent here on in is complacency and we need to figure it out before some team sneaks up on us.
I feel like the start of the game they were extremely locked in. Defense was smothering for two plays and then gets the int on third down. Offense then scores in two plays.

From there it seems like we didn't play with the same edge until the start of the 3rd quarter. Maybe they relaxed a bit after the blistering start thinking it was going to be easy. Mario was able to refocus the team after half. It's a good lesson to learn against an inferior opponent to never let up no matter what.

I just want to remind you guys, that while I agree I would like to see a cleaner game from us, refs still suck ***. I know that's cliche but a lot of these dudes have a complex and need to assert their control at all times. There were quite a few games this weekend where there were over 20+ penalties in a game.

We just have to play well enough so that even multiple BS calls don't cost us a game.

For the amount of time he spends on the jug machine that boy can’t catch **** come game time
Even last week against UF he dropped a pass around the 5 where Ward hit him in stride and he might have ran it in had he caught it.Dropped another bullet from Ward last night also.

Run blocking is not as good as it needs to be. Our WRs played bad today. Like many have said, Brown is not as advertised. That's two games in a row he looks just average or below average. Our run defense especially up the middle wasn't that great. Our secondary looks thin.

Overall not very impressed by the day. We looked much better against Florida.

The team did not look like they were locked in and focused and I don't think they had a great week of prep. I think they were feeling themselves too much after the Florida win and showed up today without focus.

The emotions of the game are real; no way Miami wasn't going to feel some form of a hangover after everything they put this offseason into beating Florida in the opener. Playing in a packed, hostile Swamp and then rolling back to lazy, half-full HardRock on Saturday afternoon—in a million years nobody is getting up for those two games the same way.

On a day when Northern Illinois upset Notre Dame in South Bend, Canes fans should be just fine with a 56-9 win over FAMU.

Bigger focus should be South Florida, which gave Alabama fits in Tuscaloosa—a five point game at 21-16 mid-fourth quarter until the Tide pulled away. Raymond James Stadium will be reach on September 21st—quickly game post-Ball State and a week before a Friday night showdown with Virginia Tech at home.

Blount stood out as someone who needs to play; that's the way it's supposed to look.

We're out-talenting, out-depthig and--at times--out-efforting the opposition, but not consistently out-executing.

We can be much better, and need to be more dialed in moving forward; I can only imagine film sessions will show the softness and get people's attention...

because Joaquin said dominate...

For those ragging on Ray Ray, go watch the punt return he just about broke. He should have fair caught the ball to be honest but, he doesn’t and makes the first guy miss him in the phone booth before making a decent return.

I saw speed and elusiveness there. He’s never going to be a guy that breaks tackles like Terrell Owens. He doesn’t have the frame of a Tyreke Hill either where he’s built like a mini brick 💩house. He’s a complimentary situational player that you get in space and watch him go.

Reading comments on here is insane. It seems like some of you thought we were getting Jerry Rice with Ray Ray. Does nobody remember him catching a screen last year and him getting hit and knocked sideways for about 5 yards?

I think a lot of us fans commented about the refs last week actually calling a good game

Sucks when it’s so noticeable that it stands out

Respectfully, the bigger focus should be on our own approach to competing and executing the game-plan at a high level for 60 minutes. Success this season will be about the teams that make the fewest mental errors and we took a step back to some degree from last week.
