For those of you geniuses thinking they’re gonna blitz all night, I have a question:
Why? Have you seen our OL and think that they are going to overpower their front 4 so badly that they’ll need all kinds of extra blitzes to get to our QB? My guess is they won’t blitz often at all. You’re game planning for an accurate QB with a weak OL, you rush 4 and drop the rest into coverage.
Don't know about blitz every play...but combo of front push and blitz increases chances of missed handoffs, fumbled QB-C exchanges, and errant here pick six off foot/out of sync pass. They know the OL is questionable at best, and they know J Will knows it too. Get in his head from first snap.
Probably a good idea to pressure him that way to seen if he rattles.
IF, and a big IF, UF is confident in their O, they might not be as concerned to give up a long drive FG or TD to really see what Enos and J Will are made of as a duo early in Q1. I believe Grantham sees this game going similar to Arky v Bama 2016.
Afterall, the lizards are confident this is an FCS game for them...they roll our Canes by 10+. LSU was soft during last year's game. Blah, blah, blah.
We will see on first drive.
My hope is Enos starts off the opening drive with easy to complete passes. Get ball to playmakers in space. Punch the green skins in the mouth with several consectuive first downs.
If Miami can do that, Camping World will flood with reptile tears.
Go Canes.
PS....do we see a team scuffle in warm ups?
PSS...Miami's best way to prep J Will against TG's scheme? Practice O1s vs D1s. Let Shaq and Co get in his face (no contact) all day during every practice. If Enos can scheme to beat Miami's D...Canes in good shape.
