Quick mention about Darrell Jackson

Who thought he was going to be playing 3-Tech? Lol

He was a 2-gap lineman at Maryland & was getting 1st team reps as a TF just due to his sheer size & natural ability.

What makes him so special & separates him from the typical NT, is that he’s not just some fat bowling ball that can’t move & he has actual pass rushing ability & very quick nimble feet all while carrying his weight very well. His 320 will look like 290.

Kid has potential to be a dominant run defender & incredibly disruptive interior pass rusher.

Definitely a 3-down lineman IMO.

6'6 320 means he is playing NT or DT as a 1-tech. Thats some massive big boy size.

Plays early downs vs run, in clear pass situations him 1v1 vs a G or C or at least as a space eater for stunts and twists... okay, I might get ahead of myself here lol

Not just that but I believe we now have 3 guys who can play that role. Jordan moving to a rotational guy is going to be huge. He’s never had the biggest tank.

Your description of Jackson and his likely role is right on the mark. Getting Jackson was the final and most crucial piece of the puzzle for this defense. Jackson will give Steele the ability to be as versatile and as multiple as he wants. It gets better though .... What makes Jackson such a valuable chess piece are those quick feet you mentioned plus the ability to be a disruptive interior pass rusher. Steele doesn't have to sub him out on 3rd down and that has a domino effect all though out the defense.

This is a great point. Miller has always flashed, and then seemed to be washed out completely a few plays later. Having him come into the ballgame fresh more often than not will take our two-deep on the line up a notch imo.

Man this is what I wanted to read from Taylor. (No you idiots I'm not saying Taylor is a bust). Taylor and Jackson being top 2 DT would be a very good outcome.
