Qb update days before a starter is decided

It would not surprise me one bit that all three play against UF in and the guy with the hot hand will stay in the game. That makes it more difficult for UF to prepare and gives all three an equal chance in a game day environment with national exposure.
That is not a deal for a rivalry game against a top 10 opponent to open the season . And what does that do for chemistry with the receivers, linemen, etc ?

Seriously. Its getting close . If they truly can’t decide from the practices and first scrimmage and few practices since, this upcoming scrimmage **** near needs to be as close to game like as possible

Yep, scrimmage it up at HRS, invite your top donors and the first X number of season ticket holders who sign up, or however you want to do it, and let's see who shines or doesn't when the lights are on, the fans are watching, and the hits are real and QB's can scramble. Do whatever you possibly can to make it as close to game day as possible and let's see who is a "gamer" and who is not.

Not buying the spin that there has been no separation at all at this point or that it is still a three man race. May still be up in the air between Martell and Williams, but Perry is not the guy.
you may be right that there really has been separation despite what all the reports say. maybe its all a ruse. i would feel a lot better knowing one or two guys has risen above the other(s).

As he should. Just like Sabag did 3 years ago. His starter last two series of the opening game. You can usually tell pretty quickly if the moment is too big for your QB.
“ i would have wanted my Qb to emerge by now” like we didn’t see hurts come in a few years back as you mentioned over the starter or even last year with Trevor Lawrence taking over a few games in.

Also to add to this, this is the most talented qb group we have had since what the 80s era? Look at the qb groups each of these previous years. This group is infinitely more talented which is why a “clear cut” starter hasn’t emerged at least not publicly. This is a real competition because for the first time in a long time miami is stacked with options at qb. Who were any of these qbs REALLY competing against when the jobs were given those years. No one...

Mark me down as someone who thinks we see 1 QB this season. 2 if Martell doesn't win it as Enos will probably create a Wild Cat package for him.

The coaches know what they've got in each player and can anticipate how their pick will fare throughout the season. Barring the pick blowing up disastrously in their face, they'll know what hiccups to expect along the way and the QB play probably gets better as the season progresses. No need to switch it up and destroy momentum.

Trevor Lawrence was different. He had a lot of catching up to do compared with the incumbent. Our guys are all starting from a level playing field.

I don't think Manny should name the starter until the start of the first game (to the public at least) to help throw UF off

And then start the game in the Wildcat while flipping off Donnie Mullins and Toad Gruntham from our sideline.

i feel that may be the case, but not confident at all. then again my feeling changes daily. f*ck as i typed that i feel like perry will win the job again

seriously though, the FSU comeback makes me feel like he's the man ultimately

How about the first 2 and a half quarters? How do those make you feel?

I think these media sessions viewing 1 on 1's are just way over analyzed. My guess is they already have a guy standing out inside the IPF and the scrimmage will confirm it. Call it and ride
I was just about to post something similar. Enos probably already knows who his starter is and is keeping it close to the vest.
There really is no advantage to having anything leak out now.

Should have all 3 QB's in on the first play. Do a double or triple reverse with the QB's pitching it to each other and then the last one throws it. Gaytors will totally be confused.

Two weeks into camp, UM officials who have observed practice reiterated today that nobody has clearly distanced himself in the quarterback race.

"Tate Martell was off with his accuracy Thursday, and his accuracy has been the big question since his arrival from Ohio State.

One screen pass nearly got picked off and there was another throw that went nowhere near the receiver. One UM official who has watched him for two weeks said he’ll have a couple good passes, then a couple bad passes, and his passes sometimes sail or wobble.

One UM person said you can’t accept plays like one from Martell early in camp, when he threw a pass directly to Scott Patchan at the goal line for an interception.

On the plus side, he’s elusive, throws well on the run, can adjust his release when being chased (sometimes throwing sidearm when needed) and is smart and well-prepared and thinks like a coach — which Dan Enos wants in his quarterback. His mechanics and accuracy have improved from early in the spring, thanks to Martell’s willingness to take coaching from Enos."

In his defense, he’s been under constant pressure and has done a good job escaping the pressure on some plays. And on Thursday, multiple center snaps to him landed on the ground, which isn’t his fault.

But you would like more consistent accuracy, especially on sideline throws and vertical routes.

One UM person said N’Kosi Perry probably is best suited of the three to run Enos’ offense in the sense that he has a good arm, improved accuracy, and mobility and does a good job of hiding the ball, a deceptive element important in an offense that features reverses and jet sweeps.

The concern with Perry remains turnovers. You can’t have plays like one in the scrimmage Sunday where he dropped back to pass and the ball simply fell out of his hands for a turnover.

Perry made some really nice throws Thursday but also a couple of poor ones. He’s become more mature and pays close attention when Enos talks, as he should.

Jarren Williams remains the Canes wild card. One player this week conveyed to friends that he believes Williams has been the best of the three quarterbacks in camp, but that’s subjective and there’s no telling what Enos and Manny Diaz are thinking.

Williams again made some very impressive throws on Thursday. He’s got good size, a good arm and has gotten himself in better shape. At his best, he throws a nice deep ball.

But his accuracy isn’t elite level, either, and his passes can hang in the air sometimes. He’s also been playing catchup after not putting in as much work as coaches would have wanted last season.

He might be the most talented passer of the group but he’s also the least experienced."

Manny knows, and part of the fun is to keep us guessing, and talking about the U.....if we did not have this....What the **** would we be talking about on and on and on?....

Most telling statement of the entire article:

"One UM person said N’Kosi Perry probably is best suited of the three to run Enos’ offense in the sense that he has a good arm, improved accuracy, and mobility and does a good job of hiding the ball, a deceptive element important in an offense that features reverses and jet sweeps."

Perry is in the lead but by a scintilla. He has to solidified it this weekend at the scrimmage.

After reading the article it's pretty clear Jarren is running 3rd in the race too.
