I have it on good authority if you will that it’s Martell.
Exactly. I’m all for accountability but dammit man...that **** last year has got to be swept under the rugto borrow a line from @theFranchise, - last year we were (Coach) Rick Roll'd

Maybe, but there was no way that we should have been in need of a comeback to begin with.
“We have three QB who can play” is code for we don’t have a QB. Hope I’m wrong.TBH Sounds like all 3 suck. If no one can beat Perry we aint got ****.
So special he decided to transfer. You guys are stuck on high school and media hype. He ran a lot of running plays and short passes at Georgia when he did see the field. Like Martell, he hasn't proven anything in college.Fields is a special dude. Take that fact and work backwards. Of course they want depth. But they can't force kids to stay. And, total guess here, but if they knew Tate was a competitive kid, and maybe that goes too far to being problematic (See QB1), then I don't think it's crazy to think they'd not want to have to deal with a ****ed off Martell knowing he's transfer anyway given Fields winning the job was fait accompli. Look, I don't know, but I think that's a reasonable theory.
Huh?
You mean the game Richt let Brian Burns terrorize the offense for three quarters with no adjustment until it was almost too late?
The same game he got his quarterback stripped sacked running playaction BACK TO BACK?
The fact the defense and N’Kosi hung in there and had an epic comeback with some of the most egregious corching ever witnessed is a testament to how good we can be.
People are shell shocked by last year. I get it. But we have the guys getting coached hard and competently now. They have been asked to play in a different way and being pushed and challenged in a way they have never experienced.
There will be mistakes. That is why you practice. We have three inexperienced qbs and an ENTIRE OFFENSE learning from scratch. It’s not like we have a new guy coming into a set offense and everyone else gets him acclimated. We are not a highly experienced group learning a new offense with good habits already set.
This thing is a work in progress. No one is gonna look like Baker Mayfield or Johnny Manziel under the circumstances.
We will be decent against UFag.
By season’s end, we will be explosive. Gonna win a lot of games, too. We will be fine, even if Perry wins the competition.

Here's a novel idea. Let's let the guys win a job and prove themselves in a college football season before we anoint them as great. It's like taking a college QB and saying he's a super star year 1 in the NFL when they haven't done **** in the NFL to deserve the accolades. Most NFL rookie QBs suck regardless of how good they were in college.
.So, until I see a full season of work, I'm not drinking the cool aide on any QB for any school.
I can tell you this much. I wouldn’t have had the scrimmage circled on my calendar hahaWith all this going on right now, just think about this -- what if Richtirement never happened?
What if we were stuck with him and Lil Jon?
I mean, could you imagine what a miserable off-season this would have been, and the disarray in QB room?
I'll take this all day, what's going on currently.
In Enos I trust
Yeah, or maybe the “upperclassman” isn’t a stud in big boy football and you gladly show his *** the door. This isn’t OSU fandom talking - it’s what his own **** OC did after being with him for 2 years. He saw what he had in Tate and knew this MF wasn’t cut out to be a starter. Sorry, not buying this ****.
Right. LMAO. Like you wouldn't want to have a really good backup in case of an injury. No. We don't want depth at QB. We'll just go with a freshman if #1 gets injured. Just silly.
And whose to say that Martell wouldn't win the job over Fields. No coach is going to tell the #2 QB in his class to leave unless there are some serious problems.
By that reasoning, Perry and Williams should have transferred as soon as Martell signed to come to Miami. After all, Martell was a superior QB to them coming out of high school (your logic).
The same logic not being applied equally. You guys are killing me.
This might be true in practice and in scrimmages but my concern with Perry is that he looked completely lost at times last year and seemed to get worse the more he played. Granted the kid did not have a real QB coach like he does now.
So I'm playing around on CFB reference. Here's a little game I'm playing...try to find a QB who completed just 50% of his passes (N'Kosi last year) who eventually improved to 60% at some point in their career. 100 attempt minimum for any season to count. I'm struggling to find anyone who fits that and I've looked at maybe 50 D-1 QB profiles now. That includes former Richt guys and QBs who've played in systems I wouldn't consider to be particularly progressive (think Michigan St) and guys who played in multiple systems. What I'm saying is that as bad as Richt's offense was, that completion percentage on almost 200 attempts might be telling us a lot more than we think. When it's that bad, I can't find an example where someone drastically improves to what I think most consider to be the bar of being accurate (60%). I'm sure there's someone, but I'm checking and can't find anyone who fits the bill yet. So what we saw with his accuracy might just be what it is.Exactly. I’m all for accountability but dammit man...that **** last year has got to be swept under the rug

Ah. Right in front of my nose. Nice find. Should have looked through Enos guys first. Ok, so that gives me some more hope.Brandon Allen from Arkansas. He went from 49.6% in 2013, to 56% in 2014 and up to 66% in 2015. His OC in 2015 was none other than Dan Enos.
Bruh, When the HC accepts a transfer QB who was the #2 QB recruit in the country (that would be considered elite in some circles), it's because he thinks he is getting a starter. If he thought he had a QB on the roster and just wants depth, then he would bring in a good prospect who would be ok with sitting on the bench if is beaten out for the starting gig. Martell transferred because he didn't want to sit another year at OSU.
He's what OSU was saying when he was recruited:
"He's definitely the most prestigious quarterback recruit they've had," said Jeremy Birmingham, a staple of the Buckeyes recruiting beat who reports at Landof10.com. "In terms of hype, you probably have to go all the way back to Terrelle Pryor [in 2008], but he was more of a project."
Just to re-iterate: that was an OSU beatwriter stating that the Martell was the most prestigious QB recruit they have EVER HAD. Manny thought he was getting a starter. If he gets beat out, then that's the way it goes, but there is a big difference between "earning it" and not losing it. If you had to rate the QBs just before game 1 and they were all rated exactly the same, then no matter who you pick, you will be "handing the job" to a guy who didn't earn it. No one separated themselves and someone has to win the tiebreaker. You may not be aware of this, but Manny Diaz, the current HC, was Miami's DC last year. N'Kosi Perry showed his *** (literally) and was suspended twice. Diaz was there for all that. I don't think being on the roster last year endeared him to Diaz. Saying "it's an open and fair competition" is just coachspeak. If you don't think that Manny penciled in Martell as the starter when he accepted the transfer, you are living in fantasyland.
Big issue I have with Tate I’d that he told that # 1 DT QB “not to swing and miss twice”, then rather than fight for the job at OSU, he turned tail and ran away. He pulled similar **** at Texas A&M where he ran his mouth at another recruit only not to show up there and went elsewhere. Big mouth on Tate. Hasn’t shown **** yet. We will see won’t we?Getting beat out by the number 1 DT in the nation does not mean you aren't a stud in big boy football. It also probably means he is still better than the 2 guys that got beat out by Malik Rosier.
