QB PHILOSOPHY TEAM BUILDING IDEA

We have Chud coming in.

I disagree with you completely. If we are going to run out TVD we better win now. We need someone who can play.

Also are you retarded? Most Bama QBs were Heisman hopefuls if they weren't NFL players. OSU has a Heisman hopefull at QB almost every year and it's always a different QB. [BGCOLOR=initial]UGA won a ship with a Heisman caliber QB. [/BGCOLOR]

[BGCOLOR=initial]Miamis last 5 ships came with Heisman hopefull QBs. [/BGCOLOR]

[BGCOLOR=initial]Who was the last non Heisman hopefull QBs to win a ship, Craig Crenzel? GTFO[/BGCOLOR]
I am now retarded after reading this BS.

You supported your argument with the fallacious claim that UGA, OSU, and Bama only recently had great NFL QBs. You say that they, ..."just had a kid that didn't burn the house down." IE game manager.
They were up for heisman because their team was good.

So, you believe Mac Jones(Bama), Cardelle Jones (OSU), Ken Dorsey were great QB’s? You think the QB for Michigan, Jaden Milroe or Carson Beck are great QB’s?

It's clear by your question that reading is an issue. I'll try and nip this in the bud.

Your primary thesis was: We should allocate money to the rest of the roster instead of a quarterback. To, "...take an average QB @ [sic] develope them."

I point out that they did in fact have guys burning the house down. A game manager is the exception. All of them consistently have QBs up for the Heisman even if they didn't make the league. For a cherry on top I point out that every championship Miami team also had a guy at least in the running for the Heisman.

The simple truth is we need a great quarterback. There is no substitute. Look for championship teams without one and you'll be left wanting.

He can’t even read his own **** and understand it. A lot of faith in him to understand what you just said.

Bro I understand your logic but then again I don't. You go out n get u a great line great wrs great rbs. With n average QB want work. Personally I like QB from Texas A&M. He got like 2 to 3 yrs left n hes mobile. You build off that n develope the young ones
Instead of spending MILLIONS on a QB, that’s probably overvalued anyways, I believe Miami should spend more on the roster & take an average QB @ develop them.

Alabama, Georgia, Ohio state (until recently) never had a GREAT NFL QB. Their rosters were STACKED & they just had a kid that didn’t burn the house down.

Caleb Williams & Drake Maye, the two top projected QB’s in the NFL draft, play on teams that aren’t even good & they have to carry them week in & week out.

I think Miami should do what the 49ers do and take a cheaper QB (get multiple) and stack the roster

I remember saying game manager was the exception.

Beck is UGAs entire offense. They aren't running out even as well as we did... Clearly exceptional

Mac Jones played good with in college to be a 1st rounder. Yeah I think he was pretty good.

Ken Dorsey was up for the Heisman twice. He won the Maxwell award. Great legendary college QB

Cardelle Jones came in at the end of the season and is a product of one of the great coaching jobs of all time.

Milroe is in his first year and clearly extremely talented. You see him actually improving with the best coach in history.

Anybody else you want to bring up. You going to say that Burrow was a game manager?

I guess it's just easier to get 5 star players at 21 positions than it is to get a 5 star quarterback.

I'll never understand this line of thinking.

"It's hard/expensive to sign a star quarterback so let's just sign stars at every other position because that will be way easier/cheaper"

Ignoring the most important position in all sports is retarded.

Fellas, I dun met Gino Torretta, not the one from Fast n Fureous, an he weren’t impressive. Dat said, he did win da Highsman trofy. So what doez dat tell y’all?

I thought this thread was going in a different direction.
Trying not to derail, but could a team never recruit a QB, and just grab 1 and 2 year guys through the portal. Riley is keen on transfers, ND appears to be doing transfers at the moment. Could a team just never recruit 1?

CIS: "We're a QB away from being 10-2/11-1.."

Also CIS: "We should get an average QB.."
I'm not sure I'd attribute that take to CIS. The number who agree with that can be counted on one of Deion's feet.

What's the most important position in football? Answer is clear and obvious.

Its insane to look at this years team and go "You know, we shouldn't put emphasis on the QB that much, lets build around him."

We did. We're 7-5, mostly because of the QB.

Quarterback play was the difference between Miami being 10-2 and 7-5. I'd concede the UNC and Louisville games because the offense scored enough to win those games but the GT, FSU and NC State losses are all wins if Miami gets good QB play. Close/overtime wins against Clemson and UVA are likely easier victories too.

Alabama & Georgia should never have more football talent than the University of Miami. That’s the problem
Why is that? They recruit the entire Southeast including all of FL and have unlimited resources. This argument would make sense in 1998. Not today.
