Dead period applies to everyone. The rule is slightly different for transfers as it doesn’t go through the 11th. It changes to a quiet period on the 3rd-7th. Still dead from 12/18-1/2 and again from 1/8-1/11

Dead period = no in person communication at all
Quiet period = only in person communication is on campus

Digital communication is always allowed
