QB Bud Foster Interesting comments

dsdd confirmed that Jarren separated his shoulder in the gaytor game and did it again against CMU. He's been getting shots and then cortisone after CMU according to him. Not making excuses, just relaying what was said by a reliable source.

It is very telling that one of the best DC's ever picked up on Jarren's lack of zip. What's also telling is that if Jarren is/was injured, why weren't Perry or Tate given more PT?

Manny jealous of Tate's media prowess

Coaching incompetence.

One of the best DCs of all time just said he thinks williams arm is weak and wasn't scared of him throwing downfield or running.

He was right too. He saw what I said previously, JW shrinks the field. He limits what you can do offensively. I also mentioned him playing as well as he could to this point and had at least two or three throws a game that should've been picked off. It finally caught up to him this game and it's back to the drawing board for him.

For as much as Manny preaches competition I do t get how they keep trotting Zion Nelson out at LT.

I thought Scaife was serviceable there last year. **** give Herbert a chance, I don’t care

Every week that goes by, all the phrases, cliches and hashtags Manny was spouting remind me more and more of Richt and Golden when they were exposed as being ****ty head coaches

I'm not ready to give up on Jarren. Perry got waaaaay better calls than Williams has had all year. I'd like to see Williams run the offense pEnos was FORCED to call yesterday.
While i was impressed with Perry yesterday in most of his moments i completely agree with This. Felt like we were much more creative playcalling wise after we were down a lot of points

This staff plays favorites. Not only Williams but Patchan over Hill or Rousseau.
Isn’t that the way it’s done in SFLA, in politics and generally? That corrupt way of running things (who you know) is now being mimicked at the U. Imagine that!

Nelson is terrible, has gotten the qb hit at least 6 times in 3 different games and he gave up 2-3 sacks yesterday

This is sad because VT is not a good team. Enos and this safe check down offense ain’t scaring nobody. Football is a game of margins. Foster had his team breaking on the ball because they didn’t fear it deep and Jarren don’t got the zip.
Yep watch VT get destroyed by the next competent team they face smh.

This is the team that got destroyed at home to freaking Duke. Even the announcers said when meeting with VT that they seemed down after the loss.

Frustrating any decent coach we get is gone in a couple of years.

Why we didn’t try to beat them between the tackles with the running game is beyond me.

If we every truly committed to establishing a running game out of a spread formation I bet we’d have success, at lest between the LG and RG

It’s hard to do that when you are down 28-0 though

Jarren never had a howitzer. But his shoulder is fcked right now, so his average arm is now way below average. He had nothing on his passes yesterday, and it’s criminal they threw him out there with what is likely a separated throwing shoulder.
Yeah he made some pretty strong throws again UiF in my opinion. He looked like a different player on Saturday to me. Not good.

He’s the worst left tackle we’ve ever had that I can remember.

I think the only person that consistently impresses me on this team is Rousseau so figures he doesn’t play all that much

I forgot what thread I said it in, but I stated that Williams dink & dunk causes a box defense, hence we move then we stall. It’s been clear as day, and his deep ball was never there. Again, I point to the Army All American game where he under threw Pope & other receivers w consistency.

That’s how we make defenses, that are not good, look all world
Deep balls about timing. I think his arm is strong enough..but his timing is off

This why you hire qualified coaches and not a bunch of nincompoops off the street

Funny, considering Bud Foster was a 27-year old linebackers coach with three years coaching experience at Murray State when Virginia Tech hired him to coach up linebackers in 1987—literally a "nincompoop off the street" who grew into the job.

Took him nine seasons before Beamer turned over the keys for him to be defensive coordinator; a gig he's held ever since.

Wow. A 60-year old coach who's held the same job since 1995 actually knows what he's taking about—in comparison to some guys who are five games into their respective new gigs.

You don't f**king say.
