One name that has surged up the board internally is five-star Elijah Haven. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder is considered the No. 1 player at the position next cycle and the No. 2 overall player.
The Hurricanes have had elite quarterback play in each of the past two seasons with Cam Ward and Carson Beck under center, and could turn up the heat on a premier arm in the junior class.
Haven is a Baton Rouge (La.) Dunham School product who has thrown for nearly 1600 yards with 24 touchdowns to three interceptions as a junior, while completing nearly 70 percent of his passes. He's also averaging 18.3 yards per completion. Haven has also added 335 rushing yards and three more scores on the ground.
As a three-year starter, Haven has amassed 4619 yards with 71 touchdowns to seven interceptions as a passer, while totaling 1039 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground.
Dawson, a Louisiana native, has also explored Fairhope (Ala.) St. Michael Catholic's Gunner Rivers, the son of 8-time Pro Bowl quarterback Phillip Rivers, as we reported during the first bye week.
Seaborn continues to be a top priority for Miami, but Haven is a new name to track for the Hurricanes this fall. Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Alabama are a few programs in the thick of things.
