I’m not stressing us getting left out of the next round of musical chairs. I truly don’t think this a scheme to ***** specifically Miami. All these conferences are so ******* greedy, they’d take us and the money that would follow in a heartbeat.

Just because I don’t know who Joe Echevarria is talking to doesn’t mean he’s not talking to people. And if anything, after the Nike deal, I’m trusting whoever he’s placed or placing in charge of these deals.

Maybe I’m delusional and naive, but Joe’s not wrong. We are too big of a brand to be left sitting on the outside of super conferences. I just don’t see it. It makes zero sense to me that we would be left holding the bag here.

If it's found out that Florida is opposed to us getting into the SEC, their fans will never be able to let that down. They will always be known as cowards within the state of Florida...

So what? Assuming everyone comes back for the lame duck, Republicans can lose 2 votes to pass something on a party line vote in the House. Massie will vote “no” to continue giving the middle finger to Trump and leadership. That’s a one vote margin.

Now if the Republicans lose around 25 seats, as expected, there will almost certainly be a handful who don’t even bother showing up. Most likely Johnson will need Dem cooperation to pass anything in the lame duck.

Jeffries will cooperate on funding and defense, but if the CBC, labor, etc. continue to oppose this in its current form, there’s a zero percent chance he risks ****ing off those factions before as he’s about to assume the speakership by going along with this legislation, at least without changes (and then you’re out of time).

Collegiate athletics are meant to be an extracurricular activity, not an occupation. With the exception of football and men’s basketball college sports do not make money. So any sort of scholarship at all is more than ample compensation for any athlete outside of football players and men’s basketball players. Football and men’s basketball are intended to operate this way too, but America loves football (plus the NFL uses it as its minor league) and March Madness so much that these sports turned into multibillion dollar operations. That’s how you land on the problem of athletes getting paid.

In reality the only athletes that should be receiving compensation directly from the school are football and men’s basketball players. All other athletes should be free to explore third party NIL, and a lucky few, more than likely attractive females, will manage to go the Livvy Dunne route and make a bunch of cash by blowing up on social media. Otherwise scholarships are more than fair compensation for the majority of college athletes.

That’s not a, so what? The polling doesn’t show this to be a partisan issue. It is only partisan to the extent Ds don’t want to help deliver Trump a win. But it’s not considered a controversial vote for either side, which is what scares me generally.
