Pro Day 2019

Screens, Draws, Short passes, Some GL/short yardage (not just as a FB), .... something. I know he is stiff and not the best when it comes to going East/West, but ****. You try and get that guy on the field somewhere. Now if he can't catch and/or he has problems hanging on to the football, then I understand.

IIRC those were exactly his problems seeing the field especially early on - reports were that the kid just couldn't hold onto the football. He's just one of those guys with ridiculous measurables that never put it together upstairs apparently.

JJ is stiff an not as fluid as say a Garvin. I think he put on too much thickness to his frame. He played TE in HS but it didn’t translate in college and now

The last the part isnt true. JJ had a very mediocre shuttle time in HS, so he never was quick. He was a productive college DE because of his power and ability to play with heavy hands.

Him getting up to 275 lbs was smart. He's not fluid enough, as you said, to be a 3-4 edge player. His NFL position is as a 4-3 DE, or maybe even 3-4 DE if he can add 10-15 lbs more.

4.8-4.9 range at 275 lbs is solid. wont really hurt or help him

Chad was 280 at the combine last year and ran a 4.92. He still went early in the 3rd round.

I can see the legend of Gray still continues on here.... When will people learn that he just wasn’t that good? Sure he runs fast in a straight line. Doesn’t mean he’s a good football player.
Idk man after watching Gus Edwards become the Ravens #1 RB after not doing sht here I’m not going to rule out that another guys talent was wasted here

This is a deeper DL draft than last year. Those times probably push him to late 3rd or first 1/2 of the 4th round in this draft. It may have benefitted him to wait until next year when the DL depth coming out will not be nearly as deep.

I remember people saying he could’ve possibly played defense. Maybe a switch could be in his futire
