Pringle is NOT IN THE portal ANYMORE

I think he’s upset he didn’t play more in the playoffs.

We value him and he was in line to play a lot next year. But I understand why he didn’t play more in the playoffs. He was a liability in pass protection, which is to be expected for a small freshman.

We will fight to keep him here. He is very talented.

This portal nonsense is ridiculous. There is no more growing into your role. We really got the short end of the stick. Now most talented players already committed, and now we have to pivot to plug holes on the scrap heap

Guys don’t want to wait a develop. They want to be in the competition to start, the moment they walk on campus. That’s fine but it means, you only take high schoolers like Toney, that can contribute immediately. And the rest take from the portal. Not worth celebrating a top recruiting class, and two years later they all bounced.

This is a brutal loss IMO.

I caught so much grief for saying Brown and Pringle needed more carries in the post season. The kid missed one block in the TAMU game and got benched for the remainder of the season. Caveman roster management stikes again.

This kid is going to absolutely crush it where ever he goes.

If caveman roster management gets us within a play or two of winning the national championship, call me prehistoric.

IU is all about movement in regards to their DL, therefore having a RB that was disciplined enough to help out when needed was important.
Our RBs against Indiana had 14 total pass block reps on 34 Pass Snaps and allowed 1 pressure. We only allowed 4, pressures all game lol.

But sure we NEEDED elite pass pro from RBs there.

The thing is I'm not saying Pringle would have changed these games even. But acting like it would be irresponsible to play him or he isnt clearly deserving THROUGH HIS PRODUCTION of being in the rotation is so dumb to me

You had me at “you only take high schoolers like Toney.”

I peeped in the replay he was not very happy on the sidelines when Mali scored and we were down 21-24. He is definitely a special back. Dawson could've used him as another speed weapon but Mark Fletcher we lived and died on these playoffs.
IMO, Pringle is very similar to Malachi Toney. That run play that Mali scored on is the kind of touch Pringle should receive as well. They have similar strength, balance, power, elusiveness and speed. We could have used Pringle in the passing game, we only had 5 WRs during the playoffs.

Only good thing is with us Getting Mensah, that should be the key driver in us getting far more explosive in the passing attack. That will take a lot of the pressure off the run game to have to be the only/main offensive driver. So at least QB will mitigate losing Pringle .

Hate this a lot.

Would love to run more Outside Zone next season and he’s a perfect fit for it.
I take it back.

This kid has close family members actively rooting against us and celebrating our loss in a Championship?

Yeah, that doesn’t really tend to work. Even if the kid somehow is a totally different character, rough.

Fletch had earned the right to be on the field the most, Brown was his capable backup. Yep, Pringle could have gotten some snaps, but the way the game went, he just didn't get his number called. Let's stop pretending that Pringle was warming the bench, while two scrubs played. Fletch had been hot ALL PLAYOFFS, you play that dude until he makes you pull him, and Brown had shown the ability to be a steady and reliable, especially with how he played against Ohio State.

If he had been playing even minutes snaps that he absolutely earned, would any of that have happened though...
If he plays he likely never even enters the portal or is viewed remotely as a character concern...

I mean it sucks for depth, but clearly they shortened the rotation and Brown was handling business subbing in for Fletcher. It’s like yall just ignoring what we saw in the playoffs, the running game was humming with them two lol.

Hopefully they can keep Lyle now and he can have a bounce back.
I don’t blame the playoff substitutions one bit; we went with experience & it paid dividends.

Lyle can be the all-conference if he is healthy; i was just more prepared to lose Marty brown…..and a healthy Lyle is eating into his carries in ‘26 anyways.

anyways …. Pringle is a special player & had a dynamic flash esque style no other back had; foresaw him getting KRs soon too.

But im not sleeping on Lyle, he can lead us in rushing yards if he’s 100%…he had 2/3 of fletcher’s yards with half the carries in 2024.

A. He did thrive in this offense

B. He can break a tackle, he's a slasher
Lol at B...... he gets arm tackled way too much and too easy. He did thrive against the highly talented competition of NC state, Stanford, Syracuse. Over 65% of his carries were after the 2nd half once Fletcher and the Oline wore down the Defense.

And not saying he sucks or anything like that. Just dont think its a good fit. He needs to be at SMU/Missouri type of offense. **** I wish Miami had that type of offense. Spread it out, get people in space. I hate the tight splits of the Oline and worse when we have 3 WRs and everyone is within 8 yards of the ball.

There is not even a sliver of evidence that should lead anyone to think Lyle was anything but our clear worst Rb this yr. He was horrible. He's had like 1 good game in his career.

In surprised Lyle didn't enter portal like 3 weeks ago...
