Fantastic news. Not only talented, but part of a team of kids who played with heart, and that goes a LONG way for me.

Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff got a boost to the running back room Thursday afternoon.

Backup RB Girard Pringle, who played behind Mark Fletcher Jr. and Marty Brown this season, has withdrawn his name from the transfer portal and will return to Miami.

Pringle entered the portal yesterday and appeared to be another Hurricane headed elsewhere, but that decision has now changed.

The 5-foot-10 freshman will be back in Coral Gables for the 2026 season with three years of eligibility remaining after spending just one season with the program.

Pringle didn’t start as a freshman, but still put together a solid year in Miami’s backfield, finishing with 62 carries for 375 yards and four touchdowns.

A member of Miami’s 2025 recruiting class, Pringle arrived as a highly regarded prospect, ranked No. 151 nationally and No. 8 in the state of Florida.

Fantastic news! He'll get reps this year, work on his craft, wait another year, and hopefully burst onto the scene as a plug and play junior. Transfer rules, he may even get a RS with limited reps, not sure what the rules are now as they change so quick.

Bottomline, someone sold him on staying and they deserve applause for that as well as him for listening. This is the way and most don't have the patience for it anymore.

Thrilled!
