Except as you said, the recovery time.
A high ankle sprain can be awful. Those ******* can hang around a couple **** months or longer , and hurt just as bad when you roll it in month two. It’s like a hamstring , it messes with your mental , every time you think it’s right it pops and you scream like a ho.

I don't think we'll stand toe to toe with them.

Their OL is better than our DL. Our front seven was getting bullied last year at times, running ourselves out of the play up field, and we lost how much? These dudes don't hold it down, it's gonna be ugly.

Our OL has a lot of starts, but they've never been anything to brag about. They're talking about that Bama defense as possibly the best ever under Saban, but no question it'll be a good one.

The game is won in the trenches. They should be favored as the match up isn't close on either side unless something amazing happens for us.

Anyhow, it would be nice to not only beat Bama, but also to hand Saban his first season opening loss there.

They certainly aren't scared to play us. There's years there that their second team would be a top 10 team in the country. ****, it was nice when we were like that.
There is no way that Bama defense is Saban best ever when they had that one with Kirkpatrick and them. Their secondary got victimized at times last season, Ole Miss and UF in particular simple destroyed them with the TEs. We have the ability to do the same. Their front 7 against our OL is what worries me but im expecting Rivers and Donaldson to be night and day at guard compared to Scaife and Clark.

true. My daughter got one playing soccer- cleat caught a divot in the grass field. The ortho told her she would have been better off breaking the ankle. Had a boot for a couple of weeks with crutches . Then just the boot. Also PT. Never felt like the other ankle after that..

Yes having the goat coach matters but UGA is full of 5 stars and don’t bite back..

I’ve been going back & forth in my head about what we should do if we win the toss. I was at the OU & Bama playoff game a few years back and I remember the entire Oklahoma sideline look confused as **** when Lincoln didn’t take the ball first. Everybody in the arena knew Bama couldn’t stop Oklahoma and the only chance was to hit first. I kinda feel the opposite with Miami, if we win give them the ball and it’s time for manny to be aggressive. Rattle Bryce
I always like the ball after the half.

Not mad at this approach either because I think we have multiple guys who can get behind them. You think we take shots early?
I definitely would. I'd go right at them right out of the gate. You cannot play a defensive game thinking you can beat Bama with defense. You've got to try to outscore those guys. And this is all predicated on our ability to contain their DL pressure. If our OL can play big boy football, we can be competitive.

Bama is the better team - better than every other P5 team out there and for a reason. But if we give our playmakers a chance to do work, then we can be competitive. Otherwise, it will be a rout.

to win the opener, IMO, we need to be at least plus-2 in the takeaway dept

hit at least 3 explosive plays that go for TD's

And force at least five punts (possessions and stops are everything nowadays)

Bama scheduling us week 1 is probably one of the dumber things they've done in recent years. Theres maybe 3-5 teams in the country that can match up with them athlete to athlete. Theres maybe 3-5 teams in the country that can look across the LOS & say I played vs that guy/beat that guy before. We check both boxes. You think our guys are going to be intimidated by Josh Jobe? We're gonna be ready.
According to Bama fans, Jobe is garbage truck juice and they scared of us.

Redding needs a lot of burn in the red zone. Dude is a man child and has realized it. Smith is the surprise, that speed will catch folks off guard.
That speed isn’t going to matter with Smith unless King improves his accuracy downfield.

Agreed. That said, QP posted a number of times that Curtis wasn’t at practice so the issue’s profile was escalated publicly on the board. My assumption was either injury or disciplinary. Better to not even go there if there’s other stuff going on and you know.
Let’s just say there’s a hand specialist and Velcro involved….😜
