Practice Report 8-6

Gaines is still hurt, not sure when he's coming back. Paul has been playing in his spot.

With safeties, nothing in particular has really stood out. Rodgers dropped a pick yesterday but was in good position. Deon is getting a lot of burn as well as Rayshawn Jenkins. I personally like Highsmithh

****. i'm rooting for him and i know this is still early practice, but tighten up boy!!!

At least he was in position and made a play on the ball. Just gotta work on his hands.

Thx Pete...I thought Gaines would be ready to go by the 3rd or 4th practice, so I can assume he will be sitting for a while. Next Man Up Mentality it is!

Neither Dewey or Crow came from programs with big time talent. It is going to take them a year or so to settle in and get use to the pace of the game. Olsen won't have this problem since he comes from a power house. Next year you will be hearing how all 3 plus thompson are competing for the #2 spot.

It's surprising because most expected that Crow would be a project.

Knowing that Dewey was coached up by Ty Detmer, we expected him to be further along than most freshmen QBs.

love the updates pete...keep the news coming bruh..go canes.

BTW so refreshing to be on a real informative forum. I save grassy for acting out..come here for the true info..love it!!!

No need to even worry about the freshman QB's. We shouldn't even have to think about them for a couple years. If they still suck then, it could be a problem but probably not since Olsen will be here. Definitely not worried about their first few practices.

Dewey has a good football mind, but he greatly benefited from being older than everybody else and having Detmer as a coach. I don't think he has much in the way of physical tools, he should be a capable backup in time though.
