Practice #7

That's just a ridiculous comparison. Arm talent is a big part of being a QB. Running a pass route is not a big part of being RB. You should have just left that comparison completely out of your post.

Tate extending plays is just as big, if not bigger, part of his game than his arm talent. Being mobile masks his deficiencies as a thrower bc windows get wider when a play breaks down.

The comparison is that u aren't judging the player on the biggest part of his game.

247 NOTES:
1ST TEAM OLINE: LT NELSON, ND, GAYJOR, RG HILLERY RT SCAIFE
2ND OL: LT HERBERT, LG REED C KENNEDY, RG CAMPBELL RT BROWN
QBS NOTICEABLY SHARPER; ALL MAKING IMPRESSIVE THROWS
PAYTON SEEMED TO CATCH EVERY BALL THROW TO HIM
CARTER HELD OUT
KNOWLES AND HALL TOOL ALL THE SNAPS AT SAFETY
STEED LINED UP AT TIMES NEXT TO SHAQ INSTEAD OF PINCKNEY
THOMAS HAD PLAY OF DAY FLYING PAST FRIERSON AND MAKING NICE GRAB WOULD HAVE BEEN TD
RECRUIT OT CARMODY, QB CARLOS DEL RIO AND TE NICK ELKSNIS AT PRACTISE

Obviously Nelson at starting LT is the biggest thing I took from this.... is the rest of the o-line/backups really just that awful? Is Nelson a true diamond in the rough? Or perhaps just doing everything right and giving him a shot against our dline and seeing how he does.

Also, unless it was 1-on-1, why is Frieson covering thomas??? If our striker is potentially lining up on the opposing teams number 1/fastest WR I dont see that making much sense....

Who has a better "arm talent", Brady or Stafford

I never said Tate couldn't throw the ball. I still question whether he can do it consistently however. That's what makes Brady better than Stafford. He's consistently doing that. The point of my post was it's a foolish to dismiss arm talent, particularly in college ball these days, and compare it to running backs running pass routes. A QB is asked to throw the ball way more than a RB is asked to run a pass route.

Zion Nelson!?!? Get it young fella!

My guess is Zion Nelson doesn't have any of the bad habits that our other offensive lineman developed from the previous staff. He's an athletic, lean, and young guy that Butch Barry can develop from the jump. It appears he's very coachable which is huge for young guys.

If tate keeps improving it will be hard to imagine him not winning the job.
Or it lights a fire under Jarren to continue his improvement as well. At the end of the day give me the QB that gives us the best chance.
I think in the end Martell's scrambling may be the deciding factor.
