Rumors started flying on Friday. Sunday he made a statement.
Funny thing is the whole staff was on vacation for the dead period, except for Golden who was working.
Yes, he met with Penn State. He didn't fly up to them, they came to him, and nobody even knows if he interviewed.
All speculation. He might have just met them out of courtesy to his alma mater to tell them he's happy at Miami.

All we know for certain is that less than 48 hours after this crap blew up he came out with a statement saying he isn't and never has been a candidate for any other position.

Yet to all you schmucks he's a liar and a fraud?

Sunday Golden releases a press statement saying he is the coach at Miami and is not a candidate for any other position.

1. Even though its semantics because when other team are out recruiting our players they can spin it however they want, point to where I said "interview."

2. He had been AWOL since at the latest early Friday. LeBatard was even joking about it during his radio show saying there were 2 options, he'd been kidnapped or was intalks with PSU. That's 2+ days minimum until he gave his half-assed announcement. It was so half-assed it allowed rumors to continue.

3. He met with PSU early Friday and waited until 4pm Sunday to give the half-assed announcement. You know, the exact opposite of a guy like Jim Mora. Either he's lying or he's dumb as ****.

Powell probably contacted uf.aag to see if they'd take him when it became clear Al was dycking around and wanted to go to Ped State. Powell was too smart to enroll and then have Al bolt after he enrolled, so he held up and started looking around.

Like I said before, this is the problem when you recruit kids who are smarter than you are and see through your disingenuous games. Powell probably saw the feeble written statement Al made and the complete lack of excitement he's had toward UM since he got back from his rhythmic slapping session with Ped State, and he started thinking "this motherfcker doesn't even want to be here, so why should I?". It's a tough sales job to convince someone to be somewhere that you don't want to be.

Where's the "I love UM, and I want to be here for the rest of my career!" statement from Al after he got back to work? Haven't seen it because everyone knows he's hanging onto any shred of hope that Ped State will still offer him the gig. Because of **** like that, we're losing guys. If I'm UM, I step in and right this sinking ship immediately.

What world do you live in? What concrete facts do we have that Franklin interviewed with Penn State officials if we're going to use your type of logic?

So you are going to argue semantics? Recruits were trying to get in contact with him since as early as Friday and were getting stonewalled through Sunday. What is so difficult to understand? There's a reason why it's being reported that Powell reached out to UF and it's because Al wasn't taking phone calls.

No idea if true, but didn't someone post something earlier about another player asking BP why his date kept changing and he said it wasn't his fault or wasn't up to him. That almost makes me think this could have some validity. That plus 2 days ago the kid was posting it's all about the U and talking about how he couldn't wait to get here and prove he was elite. And he was saying these things AFTER the Golden rumors.
