Why do some of you guys continue with these pipe dreams? Mario ain’t coming. Mods should close these fake news / miss information threads……..

Can u not read I said let’s say csz at the end of the day no one knows wtf is going to happen we could be stuck with manny and the staff ppl put together could go with any coach to come in. Breathe a little dude

Think Hickson should be strongly considered. The RB is the strongest it’s been since 00-01. Strong recruiter, the RBs know how to pick up the blitz and it’s not his fault the OL is beyond terrible.

Its a curious situation to me for sure. I swear coaches come here with so much hype and reputation and then become suspect, is it scheme, coach* or both? Idk **** about coaching compared to other posters on here so I won't even pretend like I do haha

Mario can:
- motivate
- kids love him but in a Butch way
-Recruit
-Builds a strong physical type SEC type team
-has strong physical trench bullies
- knows S Fla
- knows winning at Miami
- worked under the greatest coach of all time so knows how a program these days works.

Not sure he would win a title but all these reasons are a great starting point for what we need.

Ace recruiter with previous success in coaching up players. I'm more inclined to blame Manny's horrendous scheme and previous bad coaching for the players struggles this year. We brought in a guy who is a press man specialist and are asking him to teach guys how to play bail technique and off ball zone coverage.

I agree with this, however, I think he has a decent bust potential here because recruiting the big studs on the lines is his bread and butter, and I am not sure he can beat Alabama and Georgia often enough early enough to get the ship righted here.

We have guys questioning TRob but others wanting to keep DVD? What is the love affair with DVD? He’s an understudy to TRob in both recruiting and coaching. He’s done less than just about everyone
 
I'd keep Trob, Hickson, Likens, and Field. They are all quality coaches who happened to coach under a fool.

Simpson, I'm on the fence about.

Whoever takes over, I hope they realize the staff wasn't the issue. We have a decent staff, compared to our actual competition (the rest of the Coastal).

Shemar. If he can close Shemar, keep him. Besides that, he's actually building relationships and learning from one of the best. I'd keep him just cause you can't count on Trob to not be ambitious and eventually leave for a DC job.

It’s pretty widely known that Mario left Al Golden’s team shortly after an incident at a HS football game in West Palm. Long story short Mario at the end of the game went on the field to speak with a coach about a recruit, or maybe it was to speak to the recruit. I’m not 100% sure what the school was but I believe it was traditionally a school that pushed kids elsewhere. The HEad Coach was the one facilitating the meetings on the field and allowed another schools Coach (Auburn/TRob) jump Mario in line to meet the kid. Mario, knowing the high school coach and recruiting the area at FIU, and being the local team ( Hurricanes) felt disrespected and went off on all parties. The High School coach called Golden and James (this is why James dislikes Mario) and Golden and James both went off on Mario. Mario said **** this and went to Bama.

Up until recently I didn’t know what other Coach it was but it’s been mentioned on some podcast the coach is now a current UM coach, and TRob is the one that fits the bill.

No idea what the relationship with Mario and TRob is now but I know that was a sore spot. I think Mario was more ****ed at Golden, James and HC Coach. The HC could have been Jack Daniels from Dwyer I think.

We’ve had busts since Coker took over. We have to try and every coach is a busy unless we get Saban, Urban or Dabo.

He’s beating out schools for 5 stars at Oregon. I know Oregon is **** with flair but you’re still in Oregon. Mario wouldn’t get them all but man he’d triple what we have now.

Good news. We don't play Bama or UGA. All a coach has to do is win 9-11 games and win the coastal more than once every 20 years. After we start doing that we can reset expectations.
 
carte blanche to the new HC

as much as i like trob and another coach for recruiting the new HC has to be given the palette, all the brushes and all the paint. Everything.
 
Its tough to hold anybody accountable under such a loser of a HC. Look how good Enos is doing @ Maryland. But you need to gut this thing completely. Even that sheriff who walks with the coaches after the game at this point
