Potential "Old Man" Poll

Do you prefer Portal era CFB or the before time?

TVD 'gets paid and has the use of a new BMW or Benz.' Good for him (even though he is hardly an icon in the So Fla community where his "endorsement" would mean much of anything).

QBs are always the face of a program, for good or bad. Wonder what Parrish receives as arguably he was a bigger cog in our offense than TVD? Or, pick any other starter on offense or defense. Talking about coaches "power," my concern would be for the rest of the team in terms of what they "get" and how divisive that could be.
My only concern with NIL is the disparity in laws between various states. This will correct itself over time.

I am unconcerned about coaches. For a guaranteed $90M Mario or any other HC making millions can deal with NIL and the Portal. The answer isn’t, and wasn’t, to give the players a few more scraps.

To me the NIL and transfer portal have been overall positives.

The game itself is not as entertaining because offenses get most of the calls/new rule advantages. Defense is way too soft compared to back in the good old days.
Ain't that the truthl Not a fan of those 63-57 shootouts. Even the school with top D's, fearuring multiple NFL draftees, give up way too many points these days.

I don’t mind it but I’d like to see them put some limitations on it. I don’t like that a player can essentially bounce any time he gets a new NIL (which is basically a legal money bag) thrown at him from another school. At least put in some disincentives like forcing the player to sit out a year after the first transfer.

That already exists 🤦‍♂️

I’m still a fan, but this is me re regarding CFB today…
